Jessie J - real name Jessica Ellen Cornish - has revealed that she was hospitalized on Christmas Eve after waking up unable to hear or walk straight.
The 32-year-old singer has since taken to social media to inform her fans that she has been diagnosed with Ménière's syndrome.
Addressing her 9.4 million followers in an Instagram Live video, the 'Price Tag' star explained: "I woke up and felt like I was completely deaf in my right ear, couldn't walk in a straight line.
"Basically I got told I had Ménière's syndrome. I know that a lot of people suffer from it and I've actually had a lot of people reach out to me and give me great advice, so I've just been laying low in silence.
"Now's the first time I've been able to sing and bear it. I just miss singing so much and being around anyone."

Per the official NHS website, "Ménière's disease is a condition of the inner ear" that causes sudden attacks of "feeling like the room is spinning around you (vertigo), a ringing noise inside the ear (tinnitus), pressure felt deep inside the ear, and hearing loss".
The site states that symptoms "typically happen all at once and can last minutes or hours, but most commonly last 2 to 3 hours".
In addition, the condition usually starts in 1 ear, but can spread to both ears over time.

Jessie added: "It could be way worse, it is what it is. I'm super-grateful for my health. It just threw me off.
"On Christmas Eve I was in the ear hospital going, 'What is going on?'. But I'm glad I went early and they worked out what it was real quick and I got put on the right medicine so I feel a lot better today.
"I haven't sung for so long and when I sing loud, it sounds like there's someone trying to run out of my ear."

In a follow-up post, the chart-topper shared a smiling selfie with her followers, before listing the following 10 things she did on Christmas Eve. She wrote:
"1. Went to an ear doctor and got told I have meniere syndrome
2. Took a nap
3. Made pasta
4. Dyed my eyebrows
5. Gave myself a facial
6. Covered myself in coconut oil and walked around naked to let it sink in listening to Christmas music. It was as awkward as it sounds
7. Had a big cry (missing my friends and family in [the UK] important to let it out and let yourself feel, it just don’t sit in it. Can’t change it so don’t let it ruin your Christmas)
8. Texted with people who make me ????
9. Wrote down some intentions for 2021.
10. I am now watching Queens Gambit with my finger in my ear. I’ve done the first episode 4 times because I zero focus and my ear sounds like someone crawled in and turned a hairdryer on."
She concluded the post by writing: "Think about what you do have this week, not what you don’t.
"I’m so grateful. Making the most of this alone time. I may never get it like this again."
