It's a sad fact that, due to the recent coronavirus pandemic, many high school students will have to miss their prom. Yes, thanks to the fact that most kids are stuck indoors and self-isolating, their end-of-school dance is something they'll have to miss out on this year ... or is it?
Get more details below:That's right, the director of A Quiet Place and former cast member of The Office John Krasinski has come to the rescue, and announced that he'll be hosting a virtual prom for students.
The actor and director first made the official announcement about the venture on his official TikTok account, where he could be seen DJing, and playing the classic prom tune Lady in Red.
Krasinski recently interviewed Steve Carell on his show:Krasinski followed this up with another announcement on Instagram, in which he wrote: "Ok ok… so one of our favorite segments on @somegoodnews is ‘What’d I miss?’ And I just can’t take it anymore how much all you guys are missing prom. So let’s do something about it! Let’s have an #SGNprom !! Yup, I’ll DJ with some friends live on YouTube. [sic]"
As you can see, there were plenty of enthusiastic reactions to the idea from the actor's many fans. For instance, one person wrote: "Thank you Jim- I mean John. Seriously means a lot after my senior gets cancelled along with prom and senior trip and now potentially graduation [sic]."
Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: "I’ll be wearing my dress, my hair’ll be done and makeup on ready to have the prom of a lifetime! Thank you. On a serious note: I was really sad today that my prom (which would have been on Saturday) isn’t going to happen and you’ve just made me the happiest."
