Instagram has confirmed that Ye - formally known as Kanye West -  was suspended from his account for 24 hours after he used a racial slur to describe Trevor Noah, CNN reports.

The decision was confirmed to the outlet on Thursday, March 17. It comes as West violated Meta's policy on hate speech, bullying, and harassment when he used the word 'k***' in reference to Noah.

On Tuesday, Noah described West's behavior towards his wife as "terrifying to watch". He was referring to the 44-year-old rapper's incessant posts about his estranged wife Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend, SNL star Pete Davidson.

"You may not feel sorry for Kim," Noah said during a segment of his show. "Because she’s rich and famous; because the way she dresses; because she appropriates Black culture; because she tells women they’re lazy; because she broke the internet and then didn’t put it back together, whatever, you hate her … but what she’s going through is terrifying to watch."

West didn't take too kindly to Noah's stance on his recent conduct and took to Instagram once more to attack him, repeatedly referring to him as "k***", The Independent reports.

The slur refers to a Black person who openly rejects his own race.

In a comment left on the now-deleted inflammatory post, Noah responded: "You’re an indelible part of my life Ye. Which is why it breaks my heart to see you like this. I don’t care if you support Trump and I don’t care if you roast Pete. I do however care when I see you on a path that’s dangerously close to peril and pain.

"Oh and as for k***… clearly some people graduate but we still stupid. Don’t ever forget, the biggest trick racists ever played on Black people was teaching us to strip each other of our Blackness whenever we disagree. Tricking us into dividing ourselves up into splinters so that we would never unite into a powerful rod."

The post has since been removed from the platform.

Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021 citing irreconcilable differences and was declared legally single on March 2.
