Kim Kardashian has hit back at online backlash after posting a gallery of vacation snaps with family and boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, shortly after the death of her grandmother.
The reality TV star and businesswoman posted an array of photos from her trip away with loved ones, with smiles all around from her family members.
However, many fans were critical of the timing of the post, which came soon after the death of Kardashian's grandmother, Mary Jo Campbell, who was also known as MJ.
But the mom-of-four soon clarified that the timing of the post wasn't intentional, with it instead being scheduled days prior.
Mary Jo Campbell, the mother of Kris Jenner, died at the age of 91, with Kris confirming the sad news on social media.
After people made comments about the timing of her post, Kardashian took to the comments section herself to address the backlash.
She wrote: "This post was scheduled a few days ago before we lost MJ, so its timing came right alongside her passing.
"I’ve been by my mom and grandma’s side this past week, and my heart is completely with my family right now.
"We love and miss her so deeply, and in the days ahead, we’ll be focusing on celebrating her beautiful life."
Kardashian insisted that the timing was purely coincidental, having been with family following the passing of MJ.
Many Keeping Up with the Kardashians fans will be familiar with MJ, as she featured in the reality series following its premiere in 2007.
She was a head figure for the Kardashian-Jenner family, with many loving her kind personality and the close relationship she had with her kids and grandkids.
MJ also beat cancer twice, after battling both breast cancer and colon cancer in her life.
Hours after posting her vacation snaps, Kardashian posted a carousel on Instagram which features photos with her grandma over the years.
She also penned an emotional caption, writing: "My sweet Grandma MJ, my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin... You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!!!!!
"You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman. You gave me my very first job at your store in San Diego and taught me lessons about work ethic, strength, and confidence that I’ve carried with me ever since."
The 45-year-old went on: "You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place. You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us. I know you’re at peace now. Give Papa Harry, Aunt Karen, and my dad a hug for me."
She sent her love and insisted that she will "always be a part of her," describing MJ as "the best of us."
"I know you are up in heaven, looking at all of our Instagram posts of you from your sneaky finsta account you would always use lol," Kardashian playfully concluded.

Just a week after lovebirds Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian made their relationship Instagram official, the F1 driver spoke about having the support of his reality star girlfriend at the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend.
Reportedly, Ferrari driver Hamilton, 41, and shapewear mogul Kardashian, 45, have been in a relationship since the beginning of this year.
Although Hamilton made their relationship official back in April when he posted an Instagram Reel that featured Kardashian riding shotgun in a red Ferrari driving through Tokyo, she did not post about her new beau until last week.
The mom-of-four posted a picture of the pair cycling along a river in New York, alongside other snaps of what she has been up to, with the caption “lately”.
On Sunday, June 7, the star with 345 million followers on Instagram was spotted at the Monaco Grand Prix with her sister Khloe, arriving 50 minutes before the start of the event to pose for cameras outside Hamilton’s Ferrari garage.
In a sweet public gesture, Hamilton blew a kiss to Kardashian as she watched him collect his runners-up trophy.
The seven-time world champion, who finished second in Sunday’s race, gushed over his girlfriend, telling reporters, "It is amazing to have her come this weekend and to have that support.
"It is amazing to have good people around you, good people supporting you, and she does that for me every day."
The competition in Monaco was Kardashian’s first appearance at a racing event in support of her boyfriend. She wore a white dress with large purple-tinted sunglasses, while her sister Khloe donned a similar outfit.
While standing on the grid, the sisters were approached by a Sky Sports reporter, who asked a series of questions, including “Are you enjoying F1?”, but the pair ignored him. The reporter replied sheepishly: “Okay, so we’re not talking today."
Other big names in attendance at Monaco’s Grand Prix were Donald Trump Jnr, singer Karol G, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, former snowboarder Shaun White, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews.
The Grand Prix was won by 19-year-old Mercedes’ Italian driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Despite being beaten by a teenager, Hamilton shared kind words about his competitor, saying in the build-up to his win, he was doing “a phenomenal job”.
He added, He shared: "Kimi is doing a phenomenal job. But it just encourages me to level up, and it encourages everyone else to level up, too.
"And I am going to do my best to try and chase him down for the rest of the year."
Hamilton dated a number of A-list celebrities prior to Kardashian, his longest relationship being with Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger. The former couple dated on and off for seven years.

Fans were not impressed after Kim Kardashian recently posted a comment trolling Princess Catherine on social media.
Now, speculation surrounding the Princess of Wales' alleged "disappearance" has been rife in the past few months, ever since she underwent abdominal surgery back in January.
She has not officially returned to her duties as a British royal but is expected to make a comeback after Easter.
However, the journey to full recovery has not been easy following the release of a photo of the princess and her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, whom she shares with her husband, Prince William.
Have a look below:
The photo was shared earlier this week alongside the caption: "Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day," adding that the image was taken by Prince William, with the date being simply "2024."
While the image showed the royal and her children smiling broadly, the public soon began to spot some mistakes with the image, revealing that it had been edited.
The controversy was further fuelled when multiple international picture agencies refused to circulate the photograph, with the Associated Press going as far as to say it had been "manipulated by the source."
In the wake of the drama, Princess Catherine took to X (formerly Twitter) to release a statement admitting that she had been behind the editing blunder, and apologized to her followers.
The tweet read: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."
But fans aren't all convinced, with many questioning whether the 42-year-old was stepping away from the spotlight indefinitely or if there was something bigger at play.
It seems like news has gotten across the pond, with even Kim Kardashian joining in on the conspiracy theories - much to the amusement of some fans.
In a photo caption, she wrote: "On my way to go find Kate."
Yikes.
Social media users took to the comment section to express their views, with some laughing along with the Kardashian, while others slammed her for being so "idiotic."
"What a f****** idiotic caption," wrote one user while another added: "Not you trolling Kimmie, Kate probably going through hell."
A third also stated: "It’s not like people from your fam have gone into hiding (rightfully so) during pregnancy or other medical reasons... this caption isn’t it."
However, others seemed to take it well.
This Instagram user wrote: "The world is divided into two groups: Those who are living for and those who are loathing this caption. Kimberly is mother for this caption."
And this user also agreed, calling the reality TV star "funny."
It comes after Princess Catherine was hospitalized earlier this year, however, the Palace did not divulge any details about the procedure she underwent, other than that it was planned and it was not related to cancer.

Kim Kardashian has been known to court controversy to her own ends. Whether she's baring it all in a Paper magazine editorial devised to "Break the Internet", or divorcing Kris Humphries after just 72 days and raking in a cool $18 million in the process, it's evident that the veritable ringleader of the Kardashian Klan has some serious business smarts.
However, it's not all work and no play for this reality television star. As Kim often proves to her 109 million followers on Instagram, she has a knack for poking fun at herself and contrarily throwing shade at others. So if you disregard the fact that she has millions in the bank, is married to Kanye West and ate her own placenta, it appears that Kim Kardashian isn't so far removed from us after all.
Now, fans have reason to suspect that the 37-year-old made a not-so-subtle diss at Caitlyn Jenner in a recent social media post.

The relationship between Kim Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner has been strained for a while.
After the former Olympian came out as transgender, Kim was reportedly incredibly supportive. This all changed, however, when Jenner published her tell-all book, The Secrets of My Life. In it, the 68-year-old alleged that Kris Jenner - her ex-wife and Kim's mother - knew more about her gender identity than she previously let on.
She also implied that Kim's late father, Robert Kardashian, believed that his friend OJ Simpson was guilty of killing his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and waiter Ron Goldman - despite having served as the NFL star's defence attorney in the 1994 murder trial.
Then, in September, Kim called out Jenner in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, asserting "I've always had Caitlyn's back. But she is a liar. She is not a good person". Two months later, Jenner disclosed that she hadn't actually spoken to her step-daughter in a year.
Given all of this, Kim's followers are giving her recent Instagram post - which features Caitlyn pre-transition, with the caption "TGIF" - some serious side-eye.

People believed it to be rather insensitive to share an image of Caitlyn before her transition, stating that it could be read as an attack on her gender identity. "Why do I feel as if this is meant to be messy," one Instagram user wrote, while another corroborated "Damn, there is no place you won't go".
A third individual added, "Is this Kim throwing shade at Caitlyn or is it just me?"

While Caitlyn also has a rocky relationship with her other step-children, Kourtney, Khloè, and Rob, she is purportedly close with her two biological daughters, Kendall and Kylie. The American television personality even attended Kendall's 22nd birthday party in November, along with Kris and Kim. "Kris and Caitlyn only had a brief interaction to say hello, but everyone seemed fine,” a source told People. "They were all focused on making it a special birthday for Kendall."
And despite their estrangement in April of 2017, Kim Kardashian disclosed to Ellen Degeneres that she would "always love" Jenner for all she did to help raise her and her sisters.

Kim Kardashian has been pressured to apologize and take down her post referring to Princess Catherine after the royal announced that she is battling cancer.
Last Friday (March 22), the Princess of Wales released a video message informing the public that she had been diagnosed with cancer after speculations about her whereabouts went viral on social media. Watch Princess Catherine's video message below:
In the video, the 42-year-old revealed that she had paused her royal duties while she and her husband, Prince William, took time to explain the situation to their three children - George, 10, Charlotte, eight, and Louis, five.
"This, of course, came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family," she said. "As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment."
Following the heartbreaking message, a statement was released on behalf of King Charles III, saying: "His Majesty is so proud of Catherine for speaking as she did. His Majesty has remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law.
"Both Their Majestys will continue to offer their love and support to the family at this time," they added.
Prior to the announcement, rumors about the princess' whereabouts were rife as she was absent from public life for months. While some people were genuinely concerned, others shared wild conspiracy theories on social media.
Kim Kardashian also appeared to make light of the situation, as the SKIMS founder posted a photo of herself posing in front of a luxury car, while she was wearing leather pants and a black crop top.
"On my way to go find Kate," she captioned the post. Check out Kardashian's post below:
However, after Princess Catherine disclosed her health crisis last week, many of the 43-year-old star's followers have now flooded her latest Instagram post with criticism, and are urging her to apologize.
One user asked: "Where is the apology to our princess??"
"Lost so much respect, still having that photo up for likes and you say you love to show compassion and kindness," another added, with others also bringing up Kim's father, Robert Kardashian, who sadly passed away from his battle with esophageal cancer back in 2003.
A third commented: "Ah Kim. When will you ever learn? The least you can do is make an apology….. the least."
"It was very clear @kimkardashian that our princess was suffering and trying to heal, look after her family, and take some time out. Just because you love to float on the wave of social media and that’s how you make your living doesn’t mean it is right to poke fun at someone OBVIOUSLY taking time out off work to process her illness, heal, and try to discuss this with her family," a fourth user slammed.
As of this writing, Kim's original post with the "finding Kate" caption is still live on her Instagram page.
Kardashian isn’t the only celebrity who commented about the royal's whereabouts as she faced her health battle - as Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, Jimmy Kimmel, and Andy Cohen also shared quips about the Princess' absence.
Blake Lively also faced criticism from fans after she promoted her drinks range on March 13 and "mocked" the photo-editing controversy surrounding Princess Catherine's Mother's Day photo.
"I’m so excited to share this new photo I just took today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz & @bettybooze products! Now you know why I’ve been MIA," the 36-year-old wrote in her now-deleted post.
However, the Gossip Girl star later took to Instagram to express remorse, stating: "I'm sure no one cares today but I feel I have to acknowledge this. I made a silly post around the 'photoshop fails' frenzy and, oh, man, that post has me mortified today."
"Sending love and well wishes to all, always," she concluded.
Our thoughts remain with Princess Catherine at this time.
