But then, there are always grandparents to contend with; while they might be the people that bring you illicit sweets and let you stay up later than your parents ever would, they're also the ones that are way past shame and are just too keen to be a little bit outrageous. And if there's one grandma that's always going to steal the limelight, it's the woman behind the whole Kardashian empire, Kris Jenner.

The 62-year-old matriarch opened up about how much she loves being a grandma at the Los Angeles premiere of American Woman, telling a reporter from Entertainment Tonight that she feels fortunate to have everyone so close: "I'm so lucky, because we all live very close to each other, so I get to see my grandchildren very often, like every day. So it's the best! It's just the best. You see them grow up and change and lose teeth."

During the exchange Kris also revealed how she had recently pulled the ultimate nan-stunt and "mortified" her granddaughter North while dropping her off at school:

"Yesterday I took North to school and they had crazy hair day, so I wore a blonde wig — thinking I'd be the cool grandma, you know at school," she said. "And North was rolling her eyes, probably mortified that her grandmother wore a blonde wig. It was so funny! I mean, a crazy blonde wig!"

Unfortunately, Kris has not released any pictures of the wig in question so we don't know just how crazy it was, but we're imagining something pretty amazingly outrageous.

The two are known to be close and on North's birthday last year, Kris posted a special message explaining how lucky she felt to be her grannie: "Happy birthday to our beautiful, funny, smart little love bug, North. You bring so much light to our lives and I am blessed beyond words to have you as my granddaughter. It brings me so much joy to watch you grow up to be sweet and kind and loving... I love you so much my precious angel girl... Lovey xo". Adorably, Kris is known to the little ones as "Lovely" because she didn't want to be called grandma!
