The Pentagon’s decision to welcome Jake and Logan Paul has left online users baffled, with many asking the same exact question.
The former YouTube stars visited the Pentagon on September 17, where they toured the building, met service members, addressed troops, and briefly met Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The Department of Defense later shared a video from the visit on X, writing: "Last Thursday, we welcomed Logan and Jake Paul to the Pentagon to meet with our warriors."
The Pentagon confirmed that the brothers also visited its September 11 memorial and thanked service members during the trip.
An official said they paid for their own transportation, although the department has not publicly explained the reason for their visit.
"We just got the pleasure and the privilege of getting a tour of the Pentagon and what a cool experience," Logan said at the event.
Jake then told those gathered: "Each of you matter...Take this moment and be proud of yourselves for what you do."
"This is the greatest country in the world, truly," he continued.
"We are blessed to be born here, come here, and we should never take that for granted."
The clip amassed 47.1 million views on the platform, with many viewers asking why the brothers were chosen to speak to service members.
"Is this satire…?" a commenter wrote.
"What Twilight Zone episode is this?" another asked, while someone else wrote: "This isn’t The Onion?"
One user quipped, "Was Kid Rock not available this time?" and others questioned whether influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate would be invited next.
"It’s like this is so ridiculous, but it’s funny, and it’s crazy sad and scary at the same time," a third added.
Journalist Philip DeFranco also chimed in: "Every day this administration manages to embarrass the country in a new unexpected way."
Both brothers first became well-known through YouTube before moving into other areas of entertainment.
Jake, 29, became a professional boxer after previously appearing as a Disney actor, while Logan has competed in boxing and built a career in WWE.
The pair have also had links to President Trump over the years. Logan hosted the 80-year-old on his Impaulsive podcast in 2024, while Trump has previously backed Jake in a hypothetical run for office.
However, the brothers have not always agreed politically.
Jake previously called on fans to boycott Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, describing the artist as a "fake American citizen performing who publicly hates America".
Logan publicly disagreed with his brother, writing: "I love my brother, but I don’t agree with this."
"Puerto Ricans are Americans & I’m happy they were given the opportunity to showcase the talent that comes from the island," he added.
