Matthew Perry could be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame following his untimely passing.

Tragically, Perry passed away on October 28 after officials found him deceased in the hot tub of his home.

Perry's family issued a brief but poignant statement, expressing their gratitude to his fans for the outpouring of support.

At the time of his passing, law enforcement informed the LA Times that no drugs were discovered at the scene, and stated that no foul play was involved in the star's untimely passing.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame may soon bear the name of beloved actor Matthew Perry, as the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, responsible for installing the iconic stars along Tinseltown's sidewalks, confirmed that the decision hinges on the wishes of Perry's family, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.

Although they are yet to receive any word from the family, the prospect of honoring the late star with a posthumous star is deemed a "beautiful thing."

In his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers and The Big Terrible Thing, the actor candidly discussed his struggles with addiction. He emphasized the importance of not being solely remembered for his acting or his portrayal of the beloved character Chandler Bing on the 10-season run of the NBC sitcom Friends.

In a statement during a November 2022 interview on the Q with Tom Power podcast, Perry articulated his desire to make a lasting impact in the world of addiction recovery.

He stated: "The best thing about me, bar none, is if somebody comes up to me and says, 'I can't stop drinking. Can you help me?' I can say yes and follow up and do it. And I've said this for a long time: when I die, I don't want Friends to be the first thing that's mentioned - I want that to be the first thing that's mentioned. And I'm going to live the rest of my life proving that."

Perry's loved ones have since gathered at a small funeral to pay their final respects, and as per TMZ, his Friends co-stars were in attendance.

Our thoughts continue to be with Perry's loved ones and his fans during this difficult time.
