Morena Baccarin opened up about 'uncomfortable' experience filming two-day sex scene with Ryan Reynolds

Unsurprisingly, smooching heartthrob Ryan Reynolds was a memorable experience for Morena Baccarin, but it is not one fantasize about.

She said making out with the Canadian A-lister during the filming of Deadpool in 2016 and its sequel in 2018 was “like kissing a giant latex condom”.

Playing the superhero’s fiancée, Vanessa Carlysle, kissing Reynolds was an important part of the job.

Reynolds wore his Deadpool costume while filming steamy scenes

Fans of the Marvel film will be more than aware of the sex scene, which is more of a montage intended to depict a whole year of intimacy.

The steamy scene saw the pair dressed in various outfits to celebrate different seasons and holidays, but despite the costume changes, the Wrexham Football Club owner had to wear a mask while filming the whole, already sweaty, scene.

Valentine’s Day, International Women’s Day and Christmas were all commemorated by their outfits in the scene.

Despite the not-so-kinky costumes, Baccarin praised how professional Reynolds remained throughout the two days it took to film the sexy scene.

In a 2017 interview with Conan O'Brien she said filming “was really fun... minus the two days of sex scenes, it was wonderful, the whole experience.

"It took two days to shoot the sex scene, because I think it was us making sweet love for an entire calendar year.

“So it was all the holidays, you know. So we dressed differently for every one" Baccarin added.

The texture of a suit made it feel like kissing a condom

The one costume that remained a constant was obviously Reynold’s character Wade Wilson’s black and red skin-tight superhero suit that turned him into Deadpool.

Although the suit enabled his character to save the future of Marvel films, his fictional fiancée explained to People magazine in 2018 that the costume didn’t do much for Reynolds.

She said: "I keep saying that kissing him in that mask is like kissing a giant latex condom.

"It basically just smells like rubber the entire time."

The sticky suit was made bearable by Reynolds' professionalism, according to his on-screen sweetheart.

While filming in 2015, she told Collider there was “a lot of laughing. And that stuff is always uncomfortable".

“By the end of the day, you're like 'Okay, where do you want me, how do you-?'

“You're like spreading your legs, and you're like whatever, it's just, you get so used to each other," she added.
