Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not had an easy relationship with the media of late, and now that the couple has made the decision to step back from their royal duties, a number of media outlets have only intensified their scrutiny of them.

Making an appearance on the MSNBC Live segment, British reporter Victoria Mather, (who claimed to be a "Royals Watcher" for Vanity Fair magazine) stated: "I think what has really, really upset the British public is that Meghan Markle, who many people consider as only, you know, five clicks up from trailer trash, has actually tried to disrespect the queen, and the queen is the most respected person, most respected woman, in the world."
A number of Twitter users reacted with outrage to these words. For instance, @RottenAppleNews tweeted: "Did you say @msnbc has not or has now confirmed Meagan Markle gave Kate Middleton a knife? Meanwhile, someone else going by the handle @IlonaNMarlie wrote: "Unfortunately, this is how quite a few British 'white women of a certain age' feel and some of the men. The younger generation: happy Harry is happy. These people are beyond disgusting and in no way represent the majority of us. Why these people are given a voice tho I've no idea. [sic]"
Recently, British talk show host Piers Morgan also called the couple 'spoiled brats':
