Padma Lakshmi has responded to the criticism of online trolls who have called her 'immoral' after she went braless during a cooking demo.
The video in question was shared on Padma's official Instagram account earlier last week, which saw her making a delicious-looking chicken tagine while wearing a gray dress with no bra underneath.
Take a look a the controversial cooking demo below:However, a number of Instagram users seemed to take issue with the chef and TV personality's wardrobe choices. For instance, one irate commenter wrote: "Is no one going to comment on why she feels the need to put her nipples on social media in every video? No? Just sad [sic]".
However, Padma later shot back at her social media critics in the best possible way with her next tutorial, which saw her appear on camera wearing two bras at once in a sarcastic attempt to placate her detractors.
She captioned the video: "Lasagna with White Ragu. (I got some comments last time that it was immoral for me to not wear a bra in my own kitchen during the quarantine. So those people should be happy to note that I'm wearing two today). [sic]"
In a recent interview with Glamour, Lakshmi opened up about her activism, and about her recent essay for the New York Times on her sexual assault, stating: "Change always comes slower than you think it’s going to."
She continued: "If we want to do something about inequality, we have to do something active and concrete in our daily lives. Mentoring is my way of accelerating change and equality for the next generation of women of color in food, media, and publishing.”
