Shailene Woodley has spilled the beans on her engagement to NFL star Aaron Rodgers for the very first time.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Fault In Our Stars star, 29, even showed off her engagement ring.

Speaking to Fallon on Monday night via video call, she finally admitted that she's engaged to the 37-year-old athlete - and it's been a while.

Woodley said: "Yes, we are engaged. But for us, it's not new news. Everybody right now is freaking out over it, but we're like, 'Oh, we've been engaged for a while', after first being linked to the sportsman in July last year."

She continued: "Yeah, we got engaged a while ago and he's first off, a wonderful, incredible human being. But I never thought I'd be engaged with somebody who threw balls for a living.

"Like, I never thought as a little girl, I was like, 'Yeah when I grow up, I'm gonna marry someone who throws balls! Yeah!' But he's really just so good at it."

The Divergent actress even pointed that her dog is as keen on him as she is.

She said: "When I first met him, I think my dog like pulled me aside and was like, 'If you don't date this dude, I will disown you as my mother...

"The three feet that I run with you when you throw a ball is nothing compared to the marathon I'm able to run with him."

Woodley also revealed that she hasn't yet been to one of her fiancé's games, explaining: "We met during this whacky, whacky time and all the stadiums were closed that he was playing in, so I have yet to go to a football game...

"I didn't really grow up with sports, especially American sports. It was never really on my radar. When we met, also, I knew he was a football guy, but I didn't know like what kind of a football guy he was. And I'm still constantly learning."

This comes a couple of weeks after Rodgers announced the engagement in his acceptance speech for the 2020 Most Valuable Player award. He did not name Woodley as his fiancée at the time.
