The truth about the young boy who appeared during Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show has been revealed.
The 31-year-old Grammy winner, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, delivered an incredible spectacle, but it was far more than just music - it was an unapologetic tribute to his Latin American culture and heritage.
The halftime performance was set against a mock Puerto Rican vecindad, complete with sugar-cane fields and colorful neighborhood storefronts, and the show featured A-list guests like Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, and Cardi B, all dancing under the spotlight of one of the world’s biggest stages.
The performance took place a week after Bad Bunny's latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, became the first Spanish-language record to win Album of the Year at the Grammys.
The award-winning artist opened with “Tití Me Preguntó,” and walked through scenes of Puerto Rican life, from nail salons to domino games.
This was then followed by a rooftop wedding, with Gaga belting a salsa-inflected version of 'Die With a Smile'.
Flags from across the Americas were raised, and Bad Bunny closed by proclaiming: “God Bless America,” naming every country in the hemisphere - including his beloved “motherland,” Puerto Rico.
The Moment That Sparked a Firestorm
One moment that sparked rumors online was when Bad Bunny handed a Grammy Award to a young boy.
Almost immediately, social media believed the boy was Liam Conejo Ramos, the 5-year-old Ecuadorian who was detained by ICE on January 20 while walking home from preschool with his father, Adrian Conejo Arias, in Columbia Heights, Minnesota.
“Hold up. Did Bad Bunny just give a Grammy to Liam Ramos?” one viewer asked. Another wrote, “If he is, Bad Bunny just became a hero for me.”
Who Was the Boy?
Despite the online frenzy, the boy was not Liam. As confirmed by TMZ, the child onstage was Lincoln Fox Ramadan, a young actor.
According to the publication, the moment wasn’t intended as political commentary but rather as a symbol of inspiration, showing kids they can dream big, even as big as performing at the Super Bowl.
Bad Bunny did not use his performance to make any political statements against ICE or the Trump administration.
Despite that, President Donald Trump, who did not attend this year's Super Bowl, called the halftime show set "absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!" on Truth Social.
"Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World. This 'Show' is just a 'slap in the face' to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day," he said.
"There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD," he added.
