If you have been glued to Super Bowl LX, you probably just watched Bad Bunny’s groundbreaking half-time show - but did you know that the wedding was actually real?
Yep - it was only a small part of the show tonight, but it was a massive deal for those two people on the field.
Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX show turned some heads
Ever since it was announced, people have been arguing about Bad Bunny as the choice for the Super Bowl LX half-time show.
Some people are annoyed that the show was predominantly in Spanish, Donald Trump wasn’t happy about his selection by the NFL, and Turning Point USA even arranged its own show to compete.
In the end, Bad Bunny and his celebrity friends put on a pretty good show, and most people seemed to enjoy the performance, which passed without incident.
However, there was one segment early on that looks set to define the show.
It will certainly have a lasting effect on the two main participants’ lives.
Love was something of a theme for the whole show, but what most people won’t have known was that the wedding between two people on the field was actually real.
Imagine getting married on the field at the Super Bowl
According to Rohan Nadkarni from NBC News, the nuptials that most of us thought were just a bit of stage-dressing were actually binding and real.
That means that the pair actually got married right there in front of everyone.
Cool, right?
Nadkarni wrote: “This is incredibly cool — A source familiar with Bad Bunny’s performance tonight tells me that the couple in the halftime show got married for real.
They invited Bad Bunny to their wedding, and in turn, he invited them to get married during his performance.”
Elsewhere in the show, there were appearances for Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, and a host of other celebrities like Pedro Pascal and Jessica Alba.
There were none of the strong political messages like those delivered at the Grammys the other day, but a strong message against hate.
On a huge screen behind the performer, the phrase ‘the only thing more powerful than hate is love’ was displayed.
It's a powerful message, and one that has meaning beyond just the two newlyweds on stage.
It's definitely one they won't forget in a hurry.
