Victoria Beckham has finally broken her silence with her first social media post since her son, Brooklyn, claimed she performed an "inappropriate act" with him at his wedding.
As previously reported, the 26-year-old aspiring chef and former photographer shared a fiery Instagram statement blasting his parents, David and Victoria, for allegedly disrespecting his marriage to Nicola Peltz, and even accusing them of using the media to serve their own agenda.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
Brooklyn Claims He Is Not Being Controlled
Brooklyn went on to declare that he wasn’t being "controlled" and had no interest in reconciliation. He then alleged that his famous parents use the press to control the “narratives” about their family.
“The performative social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” he continued. “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
Brooklyn’s post also included troubling allegations about his family’s behavior leading up to his wedding.
He claimed his parents pressured him to sign business agreements tied to his name rights before his wedding day, asserting that they were “adamant” about finalizing the deal. “My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since,” he wrote.
He further alleged that his mother backed out of designing his wife's wedding gown at the last minute, which forced the bride to find an alternative. He also said family members told him the night before the wedding that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family”.
In addition to this, Brooklyn revealed that his mom had called him "evil" because he and Nicola decided to seat their grandmothers together at their table during the wedding.
The Controversial Dance
One of the most controversial claims from Brooklyn’s post centered around what was supposed to be a romantic first dance at his wedding.
He accused his mother of “hijacking” the moment, saying that singer Marc Anthony called him to the stage where Victoria was waiting instead of his wife.
He described the dance as "very inappropriate" and said he’d never felt more "uncomfortable or humiliated" in his life.
"We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment," he added in the statement.
Victoria Shares First Social Media Post
The singer and fashion designer, who had stayed silent on the matter, broke her silence a few days later by sharing an Instagram story celebrating the 50th birthday of her fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton.
"Happy birthday @emmaleebunton. I love you so much!!" she penned next to a throwback photo of the pair.
In a second post, the mom-of-four posted footage from the music video of their 1996 hit 'Say You'll Be There', which showed Emma singing her solo verse. She then wrote alongside the clip: "Happy birthday Baby. Kisses xxx."
David Responds To Son's Statement
David, hours after his son's bombshell statement, also responded, though not directly to Brooklyn's comments.
During an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box, the 50-year-old football legend addressed the power of social media, particularly in relation to his children.
“I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media... For the good and for the bad,” he said. “What kids can access these days, it can be dangerous. But what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons.
“I’ve been able to use my platform for my following, for UNICEF. And it has been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children. And I have tried to do the same with my children, to educate them.
“They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids," he said. “You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.”
