ESPN's new 10-part documentary series on NBA star Michael Jordan aired yesterday, and it featured a number of familiar faces. Titled The Last Dance, the docuseries centers around the rise and influence of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

However, it didn't escape the notice of eagle-eyed viewers that Barack Obama - you know the guy who was President of the United States from 2009 to 2017 - was introduced in the documentary as a "former Chicago resident".

Obama, a friend of Jordan, talked about how difficult it was to get Bulls tickets once the legendary athlete had joined the team. However, viewers seemed more interested in discussing the strange title the former president had been given.

One viewer ironically wrote: "Yes, chicago resident that is barack obama’s claim to fame."

Another agreed: "Barack Obama - Former Chicago resident. That’s definitely what he’s best known for."

A third chimed in: "My new goal in life is to meet the person who decided Barack Obama would be 'Former Chicago Resident.'"

Other viewers used it as an opportunity to roast the president currently in office, writing: "Donald Trump has so royally f*cked the reputation of being called President of the United States that Barack Obama was like “nah, I’m just a former Chicago resident."

A different viewer made this interesting comparison: "Referring to Barack Obama as “Former Chicago Resident” has the same energy as Michael Jordan being referred to as “Roster Player” in NBA Live 98."

But it turns out that Bill Clinton got the same treatment - as the title he was given was "former Arkansas governor" - again seemingly ignoring the fact that he was once president of the US.

Noticing the unusual titles, one viewer wrote: "Bill Clinton...former Arkansas governor Whoever did these titles deserves an award"

The documentary airs on ESPN in the US and on Netflix outside of the US.
