Chrissy Teigen has continued her reign as one of the most relatable people on the internet by revealing that she once spent thousands of dollars on a bag so that she could use the bathroom in Barney's.
A highly relatable exchange for anyone who has desperately needed to go.
The hilarious admission came yesterday when Chrissy revealed that the recipe for potatoes with parmesan cream in her book 'Cravings' was inspired by an incident at the now-defunct department store.
"This was inspired by a trip to Barney's (rest in peace) where I ordered this and had my purse stolen and couldn't pay for it and a stranger helped me," Chrissy revealed in a retweet of her recipe.
While some Twitter users took this as an opportunity to praise the recipe, one shared an incident they had overseen.
"One time I saw you at barneys and you bought a Celine bag so you wouldn't feel guilty about asking to use the bathroom," Claire Ashbey said in her reply to Chrissy. "I knew I loved you before but that solidified it."
Claire then revealed that when she encountered Chrissy and her mom in the store, they talked to her "for 10+ minutes," and that Chrissy was "genuinely so so kind."
Chrissy retweeted Ashbey's story and added, "wowowowow anyone that knows me knows this is very true all too often."
Fans then shared their experiences of buying items in stores so that they could use the bathroom too.
One wrote: "I bought a Celine CD at Sam Goody for the same reason."
A second joked: "My equivalent: buying a McFlurry."
A third chimed: "Same but for me it's always chicken nuggets at McDonald's."
However, the internet being the internet, some people took umbrage with the story and slammed it for being a blatant display of Chrissy's wealth.
One Twitter user wrote: "[A] cursory google search tells me that is approximately equivalent to 3 or 4 months rent."
A second added: "This is one of those Rich People Tweets Chrissy."
But generally speaking, the majority of Chrissy's followers had a good laugh thanks to the story.
