'John Wick' video game has been officially confirmed

Immortal 54-year-old thirst trap Keanu Reeves stars in the highly anticipated action film, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, which hits theaters on May 19. In case you're curious, 'Parabellum' is Latin for "prepare for war." It's commonly used in the phrase "Si vis pacem, para bellum," which means "If you want peace, prepare for war." And don't even think about using 'parabellum' for the name rock band; it's already used by rock bands in Colombia, France and Japan. Find something else!

For those who can't get enough John Wick, good news! On Wednesday, Good Shepherd Entertainment announced the upcoming video game John Wick Hex, which is in development for consoles, Windows PC and Mac via the Epic Games Store. Designer Mike Bithell, best known for his work on the critically acclaimed Thomas Was Alone, designed the game. There's no release date yet, but the trailer looks pretty exciting.

"Created in close cooperation with the creative and stunt teams behind the films, John Wick Hex is fight-choreographed chess brought to life as a video game, capturing the series’ signature gun fu style while expanding its story universe," the company explained in a press release."

"Players must choose every action and attack they make, while considering their immediate cost and consequences," they continued. "Every move in John Wick Hex feels like a scene from the movies, and every fight contributes to your progress on the job and requires precise strategic thinking."

This isn't the first time the character has appeared in a video game. John Wick downloadable content was released in 2016 for the cooperative first person shooter Payday 2. The following year, John Wick Chronicles, a first-person virtual reality game featuring a standalone narrative, was released for Steam VR.
