Any Harry Potter fan worth their salt will tell you that the boy wizard didn't spend his entire childhood outside of Hogwarts at Privet Drive, with his blustering Uncle Vernon and severe Aunt Petunia.
Take a look at this incredible Harry Potter themed fortress that these grandparents built:

Before he was left on the doorstep of number 4 Private Drive with a letter of explanation, Harry Potter grew up with his parents in Godric's Hollow. The family was in hiding due to a threat against their lives from Lord Voldemort, who would eventually discover the secret of their hiding place and murder Harry's parents.
The rest, as they say, is history; and if you want to get yourself your own slice of the wizarding world, then you now have the ultimate chance to do so.
That's right, you lucky lot now have the opportunity to stay in the real-life Potter family home, which is now listed on Airbnb.
The property is called De Vere House, and it's situated in the medieval village of Lavenham, Suffolk.
A private room in De Vere House is available to book through Airbnb from £254 for two nights, two guests, including a full English breakfast and cleaning.
The bedroom comes kitted out with a four poster bed, and there's a private living room for guests to use, too.
Per the Independent, the house appeared in the Harry Potter movies, and the village of Lavenham featured as Godric's Hollow.
And De Vere House isn't the only property that might pique the interest of Potter heads. Back in May, a holiday home inspired by Hagrid's hut opened at North Shire near the North York Moors National Park. The pad, which is called The Groundkeeper’s Cottage can sleep up to six guests and features many subtle nods to all things Potter.
If you're interested in booking the real life Potter residence at 'Godric's Hollow', you can do so by visiting Airbnb.
It has now been more than 20 years since the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published.
Since then, the world simply has not been able to get enough of the boy wizard and the world he inhabits. Six further books followed the first, as well as eight movies, a spinoff franchise - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - numerous theme parks and even a studio tour of the sets used during movie production.
This Harry Potter first edition sold for £33,000:

Yes, Harry Potter captured our imaginations all those years ago and hasn't surrendered them since. JK Rowling's most enduring creation has become an indelible part of our culture in much the same way as football and the Sunday roast.
And now, if you're a true Potterhead, then you'll doubtless be beside yourself with excitement to learn that there is a truly magical looking Harry Potter-themed Airbnb, replete with its very own treehouse.
The place is decked out in all manner of Potter-themed furnishings, with each dorm-style bedroom kitted out in Hogwarts house colors.

And there really are nods to the movies wherever you look in this esoteric abode, from the signpost pointing to various notable locations from the Potter series including Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, Godric's Hollow, Diagon Alley and many more, to the luggage trolley stuck into the wall.

The Harry Potter series is over, but the magic continues forever! (Or at least, until it becomes unprofitable.) There's the spin-off film series Fantastic Beasts, the Cursed Child Broadway play, the Wizarding World theme parks, the augmented reality game Wizards Unite, and the upcoming Ibiza calendar full of 'red hot ginger guys,' which technically has nothing to do with Harry Potter, but will help satisfy your weird crush on Ron Weasley.
Well, now there's another Harry Potter experience to add to your bucket list. The fantasy-themed North Shire Park, which is located near Saltburn in the UK, has opened Groundkeeper's Cottage, a luxurious replica of Hagrid's Cottage. (Yes, "luxurious." Nobody wants to stay in a realistic version of Hagrid's cottage. Fang hair everywhere, stray Skrewts, the stench of wine and poverty, Madame Maxime stopping by for late-night hookups - PASS.)
When visitors step through the lantern-lit wooden door, they enter a spacious living room, which contains a fireplace, kitchen and sofa bed. On the walls hang various Hagrid stuff, like baskets, old ropes, leather bags and a quill and ink. (No word on if they hid an ominous 'dragon egg' anywhere, but that would be a nice touch, wouldn't it?)
The living room opens into a bathroom and a bedroom. The bathroom contains a free-standing copperbath that looks absolutely pristine - probably because that dirty half-giant never used it. No offense meant to Hagrid, just saying, he doesn't strike me as the type of dude that showers every day.)
Credit: North Shire Park / Charlotte GrahamThe bedroom features a double bed, a wooden bunk bed and a mirror that we all know you're going to pretend is the Mirror of Erised, don't even try to deny it.
According to the North Shire Park website, Groundkeeper's Cottage is dog-friendly and can accommodate four adults, but presumably a couple more visitors if they're kids. (And you can always use an invisibility cloak to sneak someone in.) Some media outlets report the price is $250 (£195 ) a night, but the price under "Book Now" currently states £295 $380. (Sorry, Weasleys, you're too poor to visit!)
The owner, Harry Potter fan Carol Cavendish, spent nearly $258,000 (£200,000) to construct the lavish replica. "Books have always been an important part of my life, even after being diagnosed with dyslexia when I taught myself to read," Carol said, per The Daily Mail.
"They've also helped me through challenging times when I would turn to the Harry Potter books and Lord of the Rings for pure escapism," she added. "That's why it is so fantastic to create an environment where others can also leave behind their everyday life and step into their favorite storybook."
The cottage is opening just in time for International Harry Potter Day on May 2. North Shire Park also offers a hobbit hole for Lord of the Rings fans.
Hagrid's cottage in the Harry Potter films
If you happen to be a Harry Potter fan or just like the look of a magical, rustic cottage, then you're in luck! Because you can now book a stay in a brand new property, which resembles the Gryffindor common room.
Officially called the North Shire, the cottage is made up of a six-bed dorm room and is located in North Yorkshire, England.
The home's majestic bedroom features Gryffindor's house colors, red and gold, and contains four-poster wooden beds, complete with privacy curtains.
The cottage also boasts a huge stone fireplace and comfy-looking red sofas.
You may call yourself a Harry Potter superfan, but nothing beats this woman who claims to remember the entire series word for word:

The bathroom boasts stained glass windows that are adorned with the image of a mermaid - a nod to a scene in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The accommodation also offers a kitchen area in which you can whip up your own butterbeer.
Other fantasy-themed North Shire properties include a Lord of the Rings-inspired hobbit house called Shire House.
The owner of the property, Carol Cavendish said per Teesside Live that during lockdown she managed to carry out works on an upcoming fantasy-themed venue suitable for weddings, birthday parties, and other celebratory functions.
She also said she hopes that the accommodation she provides offers people a chance to escape the reality of the pandemic.
Moreover, the North Shire owner announced that she rescheduled the weddings booked for her venue this year, and they will now be taking place in 2021.
In any case, the Gryffindor-inspired cottage costs £50 ($64) per night per person based on six people sharing.
But if the price is still a little steep for you, know that North Shire has also started a competition to raise money for conservation charity tusk.org. They are offering a three-night stay for up to six people this New Year.
The winners will be greeted with a luxury champagne hamper on arrival.
If you're keen on staying at the magical cottage, you can make your booking or find details on how to enter the competition here.

There's just one more day to go before the long-awaited sequel to Hocus Pocus hits movie theaters.
With the Sanderson sisters back on the big screen, this year's Halloween promises to be one to remember. But for die-hard fans of the spooky season, there's an even more magical way to spend the holiday.
Rather than simply enjoying Hocus Pocus in movie theater, fans can actually stay overnight in a recreation of the witchy cottage from the original movie.
Appropriately located in Salem, Massachusetts, the haunted house is available to book on Airbnb, with booking opening on a first-come, first-served basis on Wednesday, October 12.
"To celebrate our resurrection, we’re inviting guests into a land of enchantment with a stay at a recreation of our Salem cottage, where those with a penchant for mysticism can explore our spine-chilling haunt as All Hallows' Eve approaches," the 'sisters' continue.
They go on to describe their iconic home, writing: "As though untouched by time, our creaky old cottage stands tall amidst the trees, beckoning visitors as if by trance. Enter by window or water wheel, but watch your step – a cobweb or two and the smoke from our cauldron await you inside."
According to the description, upon entering the cottage guests can expect to find "broomsticks", "apothecary bottles", "the Black Flame Candle" and even their "beloved Manual of Witchcraft and Alchemy."
They can also try their hand at enchantments and explore the history of surrounding Salem with its array of haunted properties. While the bedrooms and furnishings all look comfortable enough, the hosts do stress that their cottage doesn't come with modern facilities - but that these are available in an outhouse mere moments away.
As for how much a spooky stay in the Sanderson's cottage will set you back, fear not: a one-night stay is just $31, per Elite Daily (in honor of October 31).
Best of all, guests will even get the chance to watch a "special screening" of Hocus Pocus 2 - the long-awaited sequel which is due to hit Disney+ tomorrow (September 30).
