Jamie Foxx is celebrating the present as he continues to recover from his medical emergency earlier this year.

The 55-year-old Ray actor - whose full name is Eric Marlon Bishop - recently threw a party to mark his progress at the rehabilitation facility in Chicago that he has been attending, according to PEOPLE.

A source told the outlet that Foxx "has been working really hard these last couple of months to get back to normal and has greatly improved since he first got to the facility".

They also revealed that the Oscar winner wanted "to celebrate being better," and added that he is still doing "some outpatient rehab" at the center.

The Ray actor was hospitalized on April 12 after suffering a mysterious "medical complication" while filming his latest movie, Back In Action, in Atlanta, Georgia, with Cameron Diaz.

After reports about the hospitalization were shared online, his daughter Corinne Foxx took to her Instagram to thank her father's fans for their thoughts and prayers. In addition to this, TMZ further reported that Foxx's medical emergency was "serious enough" that family members who were not in town rushed to be by his side.

There have been conflicting speculations about the Amazing Spider-Man 2 star's condition since his health scare, including claims that Foxx's family was "hoping for the best but preparing for the worst".

However, Corinne debunked those rumors in a statement shared on her Instagram story on May 12. She also revealed that he is recovering at a physical rehabilitation facility in Chicago, per the BBC.

"Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild," Corinne wrote. "My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support!"

Foxx was seen publicly for the first time since his hospitalization earlier this month, in a video obtained by TMZ, in which he was smiling and threw up the peace sign while donning an all-black ensemble as he cruised down the Chicago River on a boat. Page Six also reported that he was joined by "at least two other passengers".

In addition to this, the Django Unchained alum was also spotted hopping out of an SUV to return a woman named Terri "Quenni" Glenn's lost purse.

Per PEOPLE, Terri and her two sisters were riding in a pedicab after leaving Chicago's famous Bean sculpture on Michigan Avenue, when they suddenly saw a black SUV driving behind them honking its horn.

When the vehicle pulled up next to them, Foxx got out and was holding her bag - which she said had been on the floor of the open-air pedicab and seemingly fell out through the side when the pedicab turned a corner.

"I wanted to ask Jamie where he found the purse," she told the outlet. "I didn't even know it fell out.

"I said, 'Jamie! Jamie!'", Glenn recalled. "I said, 'Are you feeling good?' and he said, 'I'm feeling good.'" According to Terri, Foxx thanked her when she expressed her gratitude to him for retrieving her belongings.
