Jane Fonda isn't worried about growing old, it would seem.

During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, while promoting her series Grace and Frankie on Netflix with costar Lily Tomlin, Fonda discussed life at 84 and her stellar decades-spanning career.

Fonda told CBS, "I'm super-conscious that I'm closer to death. And it doesn't really bother me that much."

"What bothers me is that my body is, you know basically not mine!" she continued. "My knees are not mine, my hips are not mine, my shoulder's not mine. You're looking at somebody who's only me from here up.

Fonda and Tomlin's Netflix comedy Grace and Frankie is about two women who bond after their husbands (played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) reveal that they are in a relationship.

The final season trailer shows the friends on their last adventure as they talk in detail about the concept of ageing.

The Academy Award-winning actor is also a known famed fitness mogul. According to Men's Health, her 1980s Jane Fonda’s Workouts sold 17 million copies.

Fonda says she doesn't mind that she's not as active as she used to be because it's an achievement to be "alive and working" at her age.

"The fact that I'm still alive and working, wow, who cares if I don't have my old joints? And I can't ski or bike or run anymore? Eh. You know, you can be really old at 60, and you can be really young at 85. Health!"

The Barbarella actor also told CBS that she doesn't drink alcohol because she finds it hard to function normally the next day. And because of her old age, she would rather not spend the next day "half-mast".

She explained: "And here's why: It's because even with one drink, like, if I had a martini tonight, I would be at half-mast tomorrow.

"Now, that wasn't true when I was younger. But as you get older, I think alcohol affects you differently. And I only have so many tomorrows left. I don't want to be at half-mast for any of them!"

Fonda and Tomlin are also close in real life. The stars began to form a bond after starring in 9 to 5 in the 1980s and said they got closer due to their Netflix show.

The final episodes of the seventh season of Netflix's comedy Grace and Frankie will be available to watch from April 29.
