Johnny Depp's attorney Camille Vasquez was recently asked whether she is dating her famous client as rumors continue to circulate about a potential romance between the two.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor is currently battling it out in the courtroom with his ex-wife Amber Heard, who he is suing for $50 million over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.
Depp maintains that he was the real victim in their marriage and that Heard's allegations wrecked his reputation and career. Heard, meanwhile, is countersuing her ex for $100 million, citing several occasions during their tumultuous relationship when she claims he was physically abusive.
The blockbuster trial has had viewers glued to their screens over the past few weeks, and made internet stars out of Depp and Heard's lawyers.
One person in particular - Depp's glamorous attorney Camille Vasquez - has become an online sensation after her cutting cross-examination of Heard this week.
As well as being impressed by how she grilled Heard, Depp's fans were quick to point out how cozy Vasquez seemed to be getting with her client - and began speculating that she and the actor were sharing more than just a professional relationship.
With romance rumors swirling online, it was only a matter of time before someone asked Vasquez directly whether she and the Edward Scissorhands star were romantically involved.
On Tuesday afternoon, a reporter from TMZ managed to catch her on her way out of the courtroom in Fairfax, Virginia. "The people want to know, are you dating Johnny Depp? It's all over the internet. Can you set the record straight, yes or no?" they asked her.
But Vazquez didn't give a straight answer. Instead, she laughed, flipped her hair to one side, and waved to the fans gathered outside. Her cryptic response will likely only fuel the rumors which are running wild on social media, where many fans have picked up on shared glances between Depp and Vazquez, or moments when the two are holding hands.
Even with speculation rife, the pair have continued to be affectionate towards one another during the trial. On Wednesday morning, they showed up looking very familiar, smiling and talking closely as they entered Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse.
