Footage has emerged of Lisa Marie Presley stating that her legendary father, Elvis Presley, would be proud of the biopic movie about his life.

Lisa Marie sadly passed away aged 54 yesterday (January 12) following a suspected cardiac arrest and tributes have been pouring in for the mom-of-four.

Her final public appearance came at the Golden Globes on January 10, with a video now circulating showing the musician appearing unsteady on her feet and having to hold on to a friend for support.

Lisa Marie was in attendance at the awards ceremony to cheer on the cast and crew of Elvis, a biopic movie about the late King of Rock and Roll.

The movie, directed by Baz Luhrmann, has received critical acclaim and gained a score of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes with Austin Butler's performance as the iconic singer garnering well-deserved attention.

The actor won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Elvis as Lisa Marie and her mother Priscilla cheered him on from the audience, with the 54-year-old stating that she was "so happy" about the award.

New footage is appearing on social media of the late singer discussing the movie just days before her untimely death. It makes for a heartbreaking watch as she reveals that she knows her father would be "so proud" of what the cast and crew achieved.

"I'm so overwhelmed by this film and the effect that it's had and what Baz has done, Austin's done," she said. "I'm so proud, and I know that my father [Elvis] would also be very proud. [...] I'm overwhelmed with gratitude, so thank you."

Elvis died in 1977 at the age of 42, when Lisa Marie was just nine years old. He was discovered unresponsive at his home Graceland in Memphis, where he was then rushed to hospital before being pronounced dead, per USA Today.

His cause of death was confirmed as a cardiac arrhythmia, with a further toxicology report revealing that he had very high levels of opiates Dilaudid, Percodan, Demerol, and codeine, as well as Quaaludes in his system at the time he passed away.

Elvis went on to be dubbed the "King of Rock and Roll" following an illustrious career and his music is still enjoyed worldwide today.
