Country music legend Dolly Parton has announced that she will be cancelling her Las Vegas residency due to major health issues.
On Monday, the 80-year-old star revealed the devastating news in a video on social media, just months after she pushed back the residency from December 2025 to September 2026.
In classic Dolly style, adorned with diamantes and a cheery tone, Parton said in her video posted to Instagram, “I have some good news and a little bad news.
“The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day.”
She then broke the “bad news” that “it’s gonna take [her] a little while” before she’s “up to stage performance level,” so she’s been forced to cancel her six-show “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas.”
The Jolene singer then made a heartfelt apology to fans, saying, “I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas.
“Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time… And I’ll see you somewhere down the line.”
Reassuring fans that she will be back on the stage, Parton added, “I’m doing really well, and they assure me that everything I have is treatable, so I’m going with that, and I just want you to know I thank you for standing by me and that I will always love you.”
Understandably, fans are becoming increasingly concerned about the octogenarian’s health as Parton also pulled out of an appearance at her theme park, Dollywood, last year due to kidney stones.
She announced in the same chatty video format that she made Monday’s in, “Don’t worry about me, I’m gonna be OK, I just can’t do it today,” in a recorded video message.
However, the news came later that month that she was postponing her Las Vegas residency due to “health challenges.”
Also, in January, Parton was forced to miss her 80th birthday celebrations due to her health struggles and told fans in another pre-recorded video.
She said “I wish I could be there in person but I’ll be sending you all my love, for sure,” then told her fans to “have the best night ever.”
In her latest video, in which she announced she had cancelled her Las Vegas residency, Parton addressed losing her husband Carl Dean in March 2025.
Parton explained she “will always love and miss” her late husband, before adding that everyone’s “love and concern” has helped her get through the tragedy.
“But after going through a year of firsts, I mean the holidays, and especially our wedding anniversary, and the date of his death, March 3, that was hard for me,” she added.
However, in the caption of her post, she thanked her fans for “standing by me and showing me so much love and support over the past year,” and added, “I’ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way! See you soon. 💖 🦋.”
