Simone Biles has shared a worrying video on social media in which she proves her case of the "twisties" is still in full effect.

In simplified terms, twisties is when your body stops doing what you want it to do, and subsequently your mind and body are no longer in sync.

On Tuesday, July 27, it was announced that the 24-year-old gold medalist had withdrawn from the women's team all-around gymnastics final, and the following day, she pulled out of the individual all-around final.

She took a step back in a desperate bid to take care of her mental health.

Biles' decision to take a step back has sparked a widespread discussion online, as it was the reminder that some people needed over the importance of taking care of your mental health.

The athlete took to social media on Friday, July 30, as she shared video proof of her continued bout with the so-called twisties, in which gymnasts can get lost in the air during acrobatic maneuvers.

In a clip of her practicing a twisting dismount on the uneven parallel bars, Biles lands flat on her back.

Thankfully, Biles noted that the mat was cushy which softened her fall.

"I don't think you realize how dangerous this is on hard, competitive surface," she wrote alongside the video.

Biles told fans that her "mind and body are simply not in sync" and that the problem emerged randomly after the qualifying round.

What's more, the athlete said she's not able to tell up from down while the issue persists.

"Sometimes I can’t even fathom twisting. I seriously cannot comprehend how to twist. Strangest and weirdest thing," she added.

Biles, who is one of the most decorated gymnasts in Olympic history, withdrew after one rotation of the women's team final on Tuesday, July 27, which saw her score her lowest Olympic vault score.

Biles this week revisited the awkward vault that precipitated her pullout in the team event.

"I simply got so lost my safety was at risk as well as a team medal," she wrote.
