It's been 10 months since the finale of Squid Game: The Challenge was filmed, but according to reports, the winner has still not received their payout.

For anyone unaware, Netflix's new reality show took inspiration from their hit Squid Game series where 456 participants battle it out for a huge cash prize.

What separates the new reality show from the original is people don't die horribly, instead, ink packs are used to signify when someone has been eliminated.

Check out the trailer for the show below:

That being said, it's still nerve-wracking and exciting because when people fight for a huge cash prize, they tend to get pretty nasty.

The prize pot was the biggest in reality TV history, at a whopping $4.56 million.

This is your second warning - spoilers below!

After the classic games of red light, green light, and Dalgona candy, the numbers of the 456 quickly started dropping.

Not only were players eliminated via games, but they could also choose to eliminate each other and that's when things really got spicy.

The final episode left us with just three contestants: Sam (player 016), Phill (player 451), and Mai (player 287).

Sam was unfortunately eliminated at a banquet where he pushed the wrong button, leaving just two.

We all thought that the finale would be Squid Game, as it is in the original show, but instead, Phill and Mai had to play a game of rock, paper, scissors while standing in the Squid Game arena.

When each player won a round, they got the chance to select a key to try and open a safe. Whoever chose the correct key and opened the safe won $4.56 million.

After what felt like forever, Mai stood victorious and didn't quite know whether to cheer or cry.

According to The Times, this was all filmed 10 months ago, and Mai is still waiting for that huge sum of money to hit her bank account.

During a phone conversation with the outlet, Mai said: "I feel like Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire. Show me the money!"

Despite not having the money in her account yet, this hasn't stopped the Squid Game winner from treating herself - and after the game she played, she deserves it!

Mai revealed that she bought herself a Ralph Lauren dress and Jimmy Choo shoes for a Netflix event all to accompany her new hairstyle. "I still have buyer’s remorse from that, but I think it’s well deserved," she said.

Speaking on the events of the finale, Mai revealed: "I don't think I'm smarter. I'm older than him and I've experienced things. It's just knowledge... We played a fair game. He felt that I deserved to win because I beat him a lot at rock, paper, scissors!"

During the game, Phill revealed that he had no tactic and was just leaving it to chance, whereas Mai said that she was studying his body language and that she knew men usually go for rock or scissors.

In fairness, she clearly knew her stuff.
