Fans think a video from the Grammys has captured Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck having an exchange of words after an apparently tense moment between the two went viral.
Now, we saw a lot of action at Sunday night's 65th annual Grammy awards. Stand-out moments include - but aren't limited to - Viola Davis earning her highly-anticipated EGOT status, Harry Styles winning Album of the Year, and of course, Adele's meme-worthy reactions to literally everything.
But one other moment seemed to stand out from the rest and it might not be one to celebrate.
It seems as though 'Bennfier' has become a hot talking point online post-Grammys thanks to a few clips of them that have been circulating social media. Not only was Affleck, 50, caught looking deeply anguished for most of the event, but in one particular clip, fans are convinced that the pair were involved in a pretty intense argument before realizing they were on camera and regaining their natural smiley composure.
Have a look at the moment in question below:During one segment when the host of the event, Trevor Noah, was pretending to be on the phone with his mom, the famous duo could be seen to the side of him allegedly caught up in a heated back and forth - and judging by the Good Will Hunting star's facial expressions, it didn't seem to end too well...
Fans could not stop talking about the awkward interaction.
"The Grammys videoing Jennifer Lopez and Ben affleck fighting is so messy but funny hahaha," wrote one.
"Is it me or does Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck look like they're fighting? They don't look happy," commented another.
Someone else even said that Affleck looks like he's really going "through some s***."
"Every time you see Ben Affleck, he look like he going through some s**t. Like he got Jennifer Lopez on his hip and he look miserable," they tweeted.
Some also pointed out his other grief-stricken reactions during the night.
"Cracking UP that this was Ben Affleck’s reaction to being at Jennifer Lopez’s side at the #Grammys watching Stevie Wonder and Chris Stapleton tear the roof off the place with their rendition of Higher Ground. He looks like someone just told him his dog died, come on man," this user stated, while another suggested that all he needs is "a large coffee and a donut" to help him perk up a bit.
However, after noticing all the backlash, some fans did jump to defend the pair.
"Y’all are worrying about @JLo and @BenAffleck couples have disagreements in public and private! Chill! Grow up! It really isn’t that deep! If you’re making it a thing it says more about your depth in relationships!", this user said.
Similarily, this Twitter user shared her own experiences as a defense for the couple, adding: "I really wish the media would leave @BenAffleck and @JLo alone and focus on the participants in the awards. Maybe Ben doesn’t show out like some men, like my husband he does the same as I’m rocking out like a rock star!
"Do not let negativity get you all."
Either way, despite this little blunder, it seems as though the pair have generally been enjoying their honeymoon phase after recently tying the knot.
Talking of the joyous moment during a newsletter post, Lopez said: "Nothing ever felt more right to me, and I knew we were finally ‘settling down’ in a way you can only do when you understand loss and joy and you are battle tested enough to never take the important things for granted or let the silly insignificant nuisances of the day get in the way of embracing every precious moment.
"We find ourselves in that long-desired time of life: having gratitude for all that life has shown us, even its trials and tribulations. That night really was heaven..."
