If you've ever been in a heterosexual relationship, you'll be aware that women express their love in a very different manner to men. Now, of course there are exceptions, but in the majority of cases, women tend to be more affectionate than their boyfriends. They're also more into doing conventionally "romantic" activities, which they then proceed to document on social media, with the addition of a litany of love-heart emojis, naturally.
This point was rather cogently proven by a young woman who took to Twitter on Monday to share the very different captions that she and her boyfriend wrote about the same picture.
[[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/bellakoval/status/917152057773187077]]
"My post vs. my boyfriends", Isabella wrote, before sharing two screenshots of the same photo.
The two photos were taken from the couple's respective Instagram accounts and Isabella's version read, "Always a blast [with] my bff", whilst Justin's was rather different in tone... "Sitting here trying to explain football to this uncultured swine," he wrote.
Obviously, Justin's caption was intended to be humorous, but as we know, there are some people on the Internet who are in serious need of a funny bone.
Speaking to Buzzfeed News, Isabelle revealed that she was rather surprised by people's reaction to Justin's caption. "People were telling me to dump him," she said. "Everyone that knows us thinks those comments are hilarious".
The biggest response that Isabella got, however, was more of the same. Boyfriends and girlfriends everywhere took to Twitter to share their own hilarious Instagram captions.
And some of them were pure gold:
"Sean choked on a piece of cheese stuffed crust the other day and almost died, I'm glad he didn't" vs. "Mary eats ass."
"Because of you, I smile a little bigger and laugh a little longer" vs. "Wizard kelly with the Sky Hook".
"My favorite person" vs. "Ravioli ravioli give me the formuoli."
"Thanks for being the best date I could've asked for" vs. "Meat sticks or nah?"
And "I like green and dis boi" vs. "Some green shit"
Isabella later provided the backstory to her and Justin's hilarious Instagram posts:
"My boyfriend rarely posts on any social media and I’m always telling him he should post more [...] So Saturday we went to the game, and I know nothing about football, and he was trying to explain the game to me, but I was too into my food."
She added that Justin didn't even know that she had posted their posts on Twitter, "It was really unexpected; when he saw our posts side by side he thought it was hilarious, but really didn't think anything of it until I pointed out," she wrote.
Isabella and Justin sure did have a great time reading through everyone else's side-splitting captions, "Seeing all the other couples tagging each other was a trip," she added.
As cute as this is, I want to know how these guys are all getting so many likes on their posts, share the secret!
Since social media has become such a big part of our lives, PDA isn't just something that happens in a cafe or on the bus - but something appearing on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds.
So there are some people that deal with it in different ways, either opting out of showing their significant other online or being very different in how they express their affection for them. And this is something that Olivia O'Leary has noticed about her boyfriend, Cam.
"My boyfriend is so affectionate and sappy 90% of the time, but his Instagram captions were so vague and bland, which I thought was a funny contrast to how he normally is," the 20-year-old told BuzzFeed.
"He’s the softest motherfucker I’ve ever met, but on Instagram he’s like, 'Me and a feral cat I found in the alleyway' on his captions of us."
So she decided to tweet about the stark difference between the two sides of Cam
Emoji overload
And that's when other women started to share how they go through the same thing with their boyfriends too - starting a hilarious Twitter trend.
Do you know anyone else who behaves this way online? There's a line you can cross to be sure, but personally I'd rather the people that show on my feed be short and sweet, rather than spending 500 words or more gushing over a simple couple photo. As long as you still show your affection and express your feelings somewhere - that's what matters.
Despite the fact that we've now had years to get used to it, there are still plenty of people out there who haven't quite got the hang of texting. I'm not just talking about slow texters or people who include typos all the time, but those who don't exactly have a grasp on the art of messaging.
Without the cues we get from body language and vocal quirks, it's often hard to judge the tone of what you're saying. Without the right emojis, your sarcastic joke can sound like a completely serious comment, or your sweet message can sound blunt and rude. Things only become more complicated when you're talking to someone you're attracted to. Whether it's a crush or a long-term partner, it can cause all kinds of problems if there's a miscommunication.
Frankly, I'm pretty terrible at this kind of thing, but there are some people out there who absolutely have it down. It's one thing being a supportive and loving partner, but sometimes little gestures like a sweet and original message can do wonders for your relationship. And as everyone on Twitter agreed, this boyfriend nailed it.
After receiving a selfie from his significant other, he needed to send an appropriate reply. Going the extra mile, he decided that a photo reaction was the only way to capture how good her picture was. His girlfriend then posted a screenshot of the conversation, along with the caption, "I send my boyfriend some selfies I just took while he's at work and this is his response".

The tweet went viral, and Alexia ended up receiving nearly a thousand comments, over 65,000 retweets and nearly 250,000 likes at the time of writing. Plenty of other users on the social media platform were sure to point out how amazing his response was, as well as how perfect their relationship looks like from the outside.

[[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/eaaaaron___/status/953457107008827392]]
After all, this is exactly the response you want when you send out an immaculate selfie, though I'm sure Alexia wasn't expecting something so dramatic. As one user said, "Bro told a co worker to take a picture of him cause his girl looks good. King", while others simply agreed with his response to the dynamite photo.

[[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/Milesc_Webb/status/953402176738652160]]
Eventually, the original poster weighed back in, surprised by the amount of responses she received and quick to point out they are far from "couple goals".

Responding to this tweet, another user told her:
"Nahhh. Ive been w/my guy for 14yrs and married for 9, we’re best friends. Being sweet, funny, and staying in love is exactly how you do it. You’re a goal!"

I think it's fair to say that while Alexia doesn't think so, this kind of interaction is something all couples should be aiming for. Beyond that, you can find out the secret to staying together in a long term relationship.
If I were to mention a news story about a boyfriend and his girlfriend's bikini photos, you would probably automatically begin to cringe, bracing yourself for an awful turn of events.
But calm your worried mind, because the story you're about to read is one that features a boyfriend, his girlfriend's bikini pictures and sheer hilarity.
Twitter user Marissa Tee was recently in the middle of a deep and meaningful conversation with her boyfriend when he sent her a collage of her bikini photos. However, it sure wasn't your average skimpy collage, with the unique photo series being musically inspired by the song Cotton-Eye Joe by Rednex.
Perhaps we can agree that it wasn't exactly perfect timing to send it, but the musical collage sure was entertaining. It turns out that thousands of other people appreciated it too, with Marissa's post on Twitter gaining an incredible 211,000 retweets, 578,000 likes and 3,600 comments. Not bad for a rookie collage-maker and singer, eh?
Social media users also showed their appreciation in the comment section, with many losing it at the video. "I am beyond impressed at how well he knew all the "notes" and also how he didn't crack up way sooner. I would have lost it the first second," wrote Twitter user @cmiller9813.
User @mamiimini also praised the post, writing: "I could not... she said she was having a heart to heart someone could have told me they were dying and I would have busted out laughing that’s too funny lmfao".
What a fun boyfriend to have around, huh? Well, you're about to get an even bigger taste of the green-eyed monster now when you see another post that Marissa made about her boyfriend. Not long before she went viral with the video, the Twitter user uploaded another Tweet that spoke of how she'd finally found the perfect guy.
"After years of constant heartbreak & my heart being used and dragged around i thought it was impossible I’d find someone who could love me for me," she wrote. "So, thank you to the universe for giving me a love i thought I’d never find. Everyone was right, the wait is worth it."
Beneath her caption, Marissa had uploaded screenshots of the adorable conversations that the two had shared. One read: "You are the one person that took an actual chance on me. Without hesitation. And I just want to thank you for believing in me. I love you with all my heart and soul and will continue you strive to make you the happiest human on this planet. I love you. I'm going to marry you. We are going to have a family. You are my everything."
Pretty darn adorable, right? Now, tell us, Marissa, where exactly do we find a guy like this?
Nowadays, a special occasion just isn't considered official without a picture-perfect Instagram snap to accompany it. Yes, it's fair to say that the image-sharing platform is more popular than ever these days, and more and more people are ditching their conventional careers to become full-time influencers. However, that means that a fair number of female models using the app have been forced to employ the services of their boyfriends to act as their personal photographers.
However, thanks to a comedic Instagram account called 'Boyfriends of Instagram' (created by two anonymous Australian men) these dedicated blokes are finally getting the recognition they deserve in the best possible way. The page posts pictures that other people have shared of boyfriends snapping away for their girlfriends' sake, and shows some of them going to extreme lengths to get that perfect shot. Whether that means sitting on people's shoulders or actually bending over backwards, nothing, no matter how ridiculous, isn't worth the risk. Scroll down to check out some hilarious boyfriend photographer poses.
It's easy to laugh at these pictures; but don't forget that there's plenty of people out there who make an absolutely eye-watering amount of money off the back of Instagram. If you don't believe me then check out the article we penned all about the celebrities who are charging an insane amount of cash for their Instagram posts.
One woman’s attempt to snap the perfect photo with her boyfriend took an unexpectedly funny turn, and TikTok can’t stop laughing.
Megan, who thought she’d captured a sweet countryside moment with her partner, only realised later that a small detail in the picture completely stole the show.
“Thought this was a cute picture…”
In her viral TikTok post, Megan shared what seemed like a perfectly normal couple photo.
The pair stood together outdoors, smiling in casual outfits; Megan in a black T-shirt and jeans, and her boyfriend in a blue top and joggers, his arm around her shoulder.
Over the first photo, she wrote: “Thinking this was a nice picture with my boyfriend.”
Everything looked perfectly normal, until she zoomed in.

The shadow that changed everything
In the next image, Megan revealed the detail that made her burst out laughing: her shadow.
Because of the way the sun was hitting her face, the outline on the ground gave her shadow a hilariously exaggerated pointy nose and chin, making her look like something straight out of a fairy tale.
“Who are you?” she joked in the caption, before adding: “Now I’m even more self-conscious about my side profile!”
TikTok users couldn’t stop laughing
The post quickly racked up millions of views and thousands of comments, as people flooded the replies with their own shadow-related fails.
One user wrote: “Girl, I know exactly how you feel, I look like the Wicked Witch!”
Another added: “New fear unlocked!”
A third joked: “Guess all our inner witches are showing in our shadows!”
Someone else commented: “NEW INSECURITY UNLOCKED, like we didn’t already have millions!”
Even Megan jumped in on the fun, replying: “GIRL I KNOW!!!!”

Others missed the joke entirely
Not everyone spotted the “problem” right away.
Some viewers thought she was pointing out something on her boyfriend’s T-shirt, which happened to have The White Lotus logo printed on it.
“I didn’t even notice!” one commenter admitted.
“I thought you were talking about his White Lotus shirt!”
Another joked: “Me looking up what’s wrong with The White Lotus until I read the comments.”
A third confessed: “Wait, what’s wrong with The White Lotus?! Then I saw it lol!”
A new TikTok classic
By the end of the video, it was clear that Megan’s sense of humour (and her shadow’s accidental resemblance to a cartoon villain) had made her a new TikTok favourite.
As one commenter summed it up perfectly: “That’s the Wicked 2 movie poster.”
To which Megan cheekily replied: “HAHAHAHAHA early release.”
