A woman in Sweden was left understandably angry after she claims that a 22-lb package was left on top of her baby who was asleep in a stroller outside her home.
Almost all of us have a bizarre story about a delivery driver leaving a package somewhere peculiar - whether that be inside a trash can just before the garbage men come or leaving it with a neighbor who is none the wiser.
But it's doubtful that many have a story where their baby is almost "crushed" by a package left by a driver who didn't know where else to put it.
Well, as reported by the Daily Mail, an unnamed woman in Sweden had claimed that she found her 22lb Hello Fresh order left on top of her baby's stroller - with the baby still sleeping inside!
The mom reportedly took to Instagram to air her complaints, writing: "Congratulations…You crushed a sleeping baby in its pram with a 10kg parcel, and have no shame. Thank God the baby is OK! Never again!"
The image was then shared by Swedish blogger Camilla Gervide on her profile with the caption translated from Swedish to English: "@hellofresh and @gordondelivery deliver a box of groceries weighing about 10 kg, and places it a little neatly on top of a stroller, in which there is a baby sleeping."
"Fortunately, the baby survives without injury, but it could clearly have had much more serious consequences if the carton had been placed differently, on top of the pram."
The angry mother reportedly rang the company responsible, Gordon Delivery, where she was offered 250 Swedish kronor ($23) in compensation.
Mikael Sahlsten, a spokesman for the business, told the Swedish outlet Aftonbladet newspaper: "When no one opened up, the driver wanted to leave the parcel on the doorstep, but he thought the surface was too damp.
"He thought the pram would be more practical. He didn’t see the baby. The mother called us immediately and we made contact with the driver right away.
"He was very sorry about the whole thing. He drove back to the customer and apologized with flowers and pralines. He also wanted to know how the child was doing."
According to the Metro, the courier was almost in tears when he came to apologize to the mother and she has been offered two free deliveries to make up for the incident.
It is reported that it is customary in Nordic countries for babies to be left outside to sleep with the belief that the air allows the infant to sleep better as well as build up the immune system.
Delivery drivers will just have to watch where they leave packages!
