A man living with the "worlds smallest penis" has opened up about his struggles, including what his doctor told him about his manhood.
Michael Phillips, from North Carolina, is seeking to turn a personal challenge into a potential world record.
Diagnosed with a rare condition known as micropenis, Phillips hopes to secure a Guinness World Record for having the smallest penis, per the Sun.
Michael’s journey began four months ago when he sought medical advice due to long-standing concerns about his penis size.
"I went to the doctor about four or five months ago with concerns over my penis size. I was informed there is a condition called a micropenis," he told the paper.
“I was referred to a urologist. I was always aware it had been small, but wasn't aware there was a condition for it.
"The main reason I went to the doctor was because my penis is actually too small to have sex at all.
“I have had a couple experiences of having sex and wasn't able to get it in and everything. From there I just stopped trying to date and lost interest in it.”
Rather than hiding in shame, Michael is determined to embrace his condition by pursuing a Guinness World Record title.
“I was actually looking to see if there is a Guinness world record for the smallest and see if I can enter for that,” he revealed to The Sun.
“I try to turn a negative into a positive, so I’m trying to make everything a positive—so if I can get a title out of it then great.”
He first became aware of his condition during high school when he revealed his size to a girl, only to be met with laughter. This experience, among others, has led him to give up on dating entirely.
Michael's penis measures just under an inch.
Michael’s condition not only prevents him from having sex but also requires him to urinate while sitting down.
He describes the constant reminders of his condition as challenging, particularly in public restrooms.
“You have to see it every time you go to the bathroom. With this condition, going to the bathroom is even more challenging. I can’t stand to pee, I have to sit down. It makes it difficult when you’re out in public,” he explained.
He continued: "I had tickets to an NFL game, but you go to a restroom and it is just urinals lined up that I can’t use."
Michael is currently exploring his options, including possible surgery to increase the size of his penis. Penis enlargement surgery can involve lengthening procedures and fat grafting to increase girth.
“I wanted to see if there was anything that could be done to make it bigger,” Michael said.
“There are some surgeries, but they would only be able to add about an inch, inch-and-a-half.
"I’m thinking about it, but if that's all that I would be able to gain, then I would still be within the spectrum of a micropenis, so I’m not sure if it would be worth it. I’m still processing it all and have appointments to decide what my next move is.”
Michael's struggles are the opposite end of the spectrum from Matt Barr, who believes that he has the largest penis in the United Kingdom.
Appearing on This Morning, Matt revealed that his manhood measures around 12 inches in length.
"I was wearing a very baggy shirt and shorts [but because of the] yoga positions, people just got the wrong idea," he explained.
Alongside all of this, Matt revealed that he was approached by an OnlyFans model who was hoping to collaborate with him for some content.
