A North Carolina man who believes he may have the smallest micropenis in the world has shared a positive update after reaching out to the public for help.
Michael Phillips, 38, was medically diagnosed with a 0.38 inch micropenis, which he believes could be the smallest one in the world.
The average penis size worldwide ranges from 5.1 to 5.7 inches, with a micropenis being classed as one that is under 2.9 inches on an adult male.
Michael previously revealed the impact that living with a micropenis had on his life, including making dating difficult and sexual intercourse impossible, as well as making it challenging for him to urinate.
In an attempt to ease the daily struggles he faces, Michael had put out a crowdfunding request to raise $6,000 plus taxes to be able to get his penis enlarged.
The GoFundMe explained: "I am reaching out for help with a deeply personal medical challenge. I have a condition called Micropenis which causes me to be only 0.38 inches, which has made everyday tasks like using the restroom without making a mess is extremely difficult for me.
"Because of this, my doctor has advised that I must use pull ups unless I can pursue a medical procedure to help increase the size and improve my ability to urinate.
"This has been a source of daily frustration and embarrassment especially when traveling which I like to do, and it has affected my confidence and independence."
He added: "Over the years, my story has been featured in the news and on television, which has brought some awareness to my condition but also added to the emotional weight I carry.
"I have worked hard to save as much as I can toward the cost of surgery and injections that could help increase the girth and allow me to use the restroom more normally. However, I still need additional support to cover the full cost of the procedure.
"While this procedure will not cure my Micropenis condition, it would make a significant difference in my daily life by helping me avoid the need for pull ups and regain some normalcy and comfort."
Michael explained: "I'm reaching out to anyone who understands how challenging this situation can be. Your support would mean the world to me and help me take a big step toward living with more dignity and independence. Thank you for your kindness and for considering a donation to my fundraiser."
He later shared a positive update revealing that the initial goal had been hit in just a matter of hours, and raised the fundraising total to $22,000 in order to use the additional funds to "cover the final exact medical costs, necessary post-procedure prescriptions, travel and lodging for the procedure, and to support my living expenses and lost income while I am recovering and unable to work."
According to TMZ, the procedure involves the injection of semi-permanent dermal fillers into the penis in order to increase its size and make urination easier for Michael.

A man who believes he may have the smallest micropenis in the world has opened up about how it affects the way he urinates.
Michael Phillips, 38, was medically diagnosed with a 0.38 inch micropenis last year, which he believes could be the smallest one in the world.
The average penis size worldwide ranges from 5.1 to 5.7 inches, with a micropenis being classed as one that is under 2.9 inches on an adult male.
Michael revealed how he first discovered his manhood was below average size, revealing on This Morning: "I would say probably around high school, and dealing with girlfriends and stuff like that.
"But I was always under the belief that maybe I'm a late bloomer, maybe one day it'll get to normal size. And then it just never did."
Michael, who is adopted, revealed that he never felt able to raise the issue with his parents, even after he passed through puberty and found that his penis hadn't grown.
He revealed that he tried to keep the issue to himself throughout his teens and twenties and was always single despite his friends wondering why he wasn't dating.
"I just didn't want to go through that," he admitted.
Addressing whether he was ever bullied for his small appendage, Michael revealed: "There was a few girlfriends in high school or whatever that knew about it, but as far as I know, it never got around. I didn't get picked on for it or anything, because nobody knew."
Michael revealed that his micropenis makes sexual intercourse impossible, and has effects on other areas of his life.
He explained: "Aside from that I can't go out and have a one night stand, I can't go out and do things like that, but it also affects your ability to use the restroom, your confidence."
Michael added that even peeing sitting down "can be tricky with clean-up and everything".
In an attempt to improve the situation, Michael even tried having fat injected into his penis to lengthen it, but the treatment did not work.
He hopes by speaking out about his own experience, it helps people to recognise that a micropenis can be a medical condition and encourage people that may have one to reach out for help from their doctors.
Michael revealed that by the time he'd spoken to a doctor he was told there was nothing that could be done, but if he'd reached out earlier there may have been some medical intervention that could have improved his situation.

Viewers of UK mid-morning TV show This Morning were left stunned when a man who claims to have the 'world’s smallest penis' appeared on the sofa to share his deeply personal story.
Michael Phillips, 38, from North Carolina, revealed that his manhood measures just 0.38 inches — significantly below the average of 5.5 inches — and it's a reality that has impacted every aspect of his life.
Speaking candidly to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Michael shared that he first became aware of his condition during his teenage years but held on to hope that things would change.
"I was probably in high school, and dealing with girlfriends and stuff like that, I thought I was a late bloomer, maybe one day it would be normal size. But it never happened."
When asked whether it was something he could talk about with his family, Michael — who also revealed he was adopted — admitted he struggled to open up about his condition.
"I kept it to myself, when I was in my teens and twenties, I was always single even though I had friends.
"They wondered why I wasn't dating and I didn't want to go through that."
For years, he kept his condition a secret, choosing to avoid the subject altogether.
As a result, no one around him suspected anything.
“I didn’t get picked on because nobody knew,” he said.
But in adulthood, the hidden burden became much harder to manage.
Michael revealed that his condition has brought unexpected daily challenges, far beyond just dating.
"I can't go out and have a one night stand but it also affects my ability to use a restroom, my confidence.
Even sitting down can be tricky with the clean up and everything. I've tried everything possible. You can be upfront, you can try to talk to somebody, sometimes you don't say nothing at all."
As Michael's story unfolded on live TV, This Morning viewers rushed to social media to share their reactions — ranging from sympathy to outright confusion.
"Suppose it’s easy to slag the bloke with the smallest penis. Must be horrible for him," one person said.
Others questioned the motivation behind going public: "Why would you go on #thismorning and tell everyone you have a micropenis?"
One viewer poked fun at part of the segment: "When Ben asked the man with the micro penis how it affects his day to day life, he replied that he can't go on one night stands!
"Is that day to day life? I must have had a very boring life if it is."

A man who claims to have the world’s smallest penis has opened up about his sex life as experts explain what medically qualifies as a micropenis.
The term "micropenis" is often thrown around as an insult or joke, but medically, it has a very specific definition.
The rare condition affects around 0.6 percent of the global population, meaning the vast majority of men fall well within the average range.
In the US, the average erect penis size is about 5.6 inches, according to World Population Review. By contrast, a micropenis is medically defined as measuring 3.67 inches or less when erect.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, a micropenis can be caused by fetal testosterone deficiency, which occurs when there is not enough testosterone during development in the womb.
In some cases, the condition can be diagnosed during infancy and treated with hormone therapy to help promote more typical growth.
However, that option was not available for Michael Phillips, a 36-year-old man from North Carolina who says he fits the medical definition and believes he has the smallest penis in the world.
In a resurfaced interview with IGV Official, Michael admitted the condition has been difficult to accept. “I’m still not sure that I have yet fully come to terms with having a micropenis,” he said.
Michael said his condition has had a major impact on his dating life and confidence.
“The biggest challenges I’ve faced [are] having a sexual relationship and still being a virgin and being able to talk about it openly because of how embarrassing of a topic it is,” he explained.
Speaking to The Sun, he revealed: “I have had a couple experiences of having sex and wasn’t able to get it in and everything. From there I just stopped trying to date and lost interest in it.”
Despite this, Michael is now trying to raise awareness and encourage others living with the condition.
“You can choose to be happy just being here in this great world we live in,” he said. “Find people you are confident in sharing your problem with, and they might surprise you with how understanding and accepting they are.”
Michael’s experience mirrors the story of another man with a micropenis who spoke anonymously on Joe Santagato and Greg Dybec’s podcast, Other People’s Lives.
The 26-year-old caller described realizing his anatomy was different as a child and said the fear of rejection shaped his dating life.
“I cut it off because I was nervous and scared,” he said, explaining how he often ended relationships early. “That’s how it was for a long time. Still is, to be honest.”
After finally opening up to a woman he had “proper feelings for,” he sensed her discomfort despite her efforts to be kind.
“She knew it was terrible, which she tried her hardest not to tell me,” he said. “But she’s an honest person as well, and I could tell... I don’t blame a woman for thinking, ‘I don’t want this.’ I don’t blame that at all.”
Although they remained friends, a comment she made during a movie later resurfaced the pain.
“Oh, I’m scared now, I’m nervous,” she said during a sexual scene, a moment he described as heartbreaking. “She’s never dealt with something like this before... so obviously, now it’s her head. She’s scared, and I [start] to feel bad for them.”
The caller acknowledged the reality that men with the condition face. “If it’s not going to work out because of that [his condition], then I understand,” he said, while also questioning when and how to disclose it.
“If you can, you should tell the woman, but when do you tell her?”

A man who has a rare health condition has revealed what it's like living with it from day to day.
The 43-year-old individual, who has remained anonymous, has been candid about the negative impacts that having a micropenis can have.
Micropenises themselves are rare, with less than one percent of men affected around the world, with Cleveland Clinic estimating this figure to be around 0.6 percent.
It is said that the average stretched penile length (SPL) for adult males is 5.25 inches, while healthcare providers will diagnose a micropenis if its length is "less than 2.5 standard deviations below the average".
Going by this, a manhood with an SPL of 2.67 inches or under in male adults will be classified as a micropenis.
While there are feelings of anxiety with having a small penis, those who have one still usually have normal sexual function.
The man, known only as Sebastian to protect his anonymity, told Esquire: “My penis didn’t just affect my dating life, though. It affected my daily life.
“I tried to avoid using urinals. I stopped playing football because of the locker room situation after games. I always wear big hoodies or baggy shorts to hide my lack of a bulge."
He also said that on colder days, his penis can become inverted, making them the "absolute worst," revealing that he had to "warm it up" before peeing so he wouldn't "splash on myself."
Sebastian still aims to get married and settle down one day, but his fears over the size of his penis will likely stop him from realising this dream.
A delivery driver by day, he said that while he has a girlfriend, she admitted that his penis was "the smallest she'd ever seen," which is a line sure to shoot down the confidence of any man.
Sebastian also stumbled upon an eight-inch purple rabbit vibrator inside her wardrobe, which made his "heart sink".
He admitted: “It made me feel very self-conscious because it was obviously a lot bigger than me.”
The man also admitted that he didn't know he had a micropenis until he was about 12 years old and in PE class, a common occurrence with those who have the condition.
Sebastian isn't alone in opening up about the stigmatised condition, as a 26-year-old man anonymously appeared on the Other People's Lives podcast, sharing how it has affected his relationships.
He admitted that fear of judgment often caused him to end relationships prematurely, saying: “I cut it off because I was nervous and scared.” He continued by adding: “That’s how it was for a long time. Still is, to be honest.”
After years of avoiding deeper connections, he eventually opened up to a woman he said he had “proper feelings for.”
In an intimate moment, he revealed his condition to her. Although she tried to be understanding, he sensed that she was uncomfortable.
“She knew it was terrible, which she tried her hardest not to tell me,” he admitted.
“But she’s an honest person as well, and I could tell... I don’t blame a woman for thinking, ‘I don’t want this.’ I don’t blame that at all.”
He also spoke about the challenges of deciding when and how to be open about it, asking: “If you can, you should tell the woman, but when do you tell her?”
