A couple adopted an adorable kitten that stole the show on their wedding day... because how could they not?

There's an age-old rule in showbiz: Never work with kids or animals. I don't work in showbiz and this story is about a wedding, but it feels relevant.

We've all seen videos of dogs helping out at weddings by being a ring bearer, and it's incredibly cute - but seeing a cat on the big day is less common.

But cats are just as loved as dogs and as a member of the family, they deserve to be there... and in this case, one kitten attended a wedding and got adopted after!

The bride and groom's wedding ceremony took an unexpected turn when the small kitten crashed their special day, meowing loudly from a wooded area behind the couple as they exchanged vows.

Watch the video below:

The incident was captured in a TikTok video, where the groom, deeply engrossed in reading his personally written vows, was oblivious to the faint meows emerging from behind the wedding arch.

"The two of us had no clue. All we noticed was everyone laughing during our vows, so I was kind of annoyed," bride Cara shared in text over the clip.

As confusion swept over the bridal party, one bridesmaid calmly informed the bride: "There's a cat meowing," triggering laughter from the wedding guests.

"I have to stop this because of the cat," the groom, Matt, addressed the guests, as the stray kitten made an appearance, peeking out from her hiding spot. The crowd erupted in cheers and applause as the bridal party pointed out the tiny gray wedding crasher.

"There she was sitting on a tree stump right behind us, demanding to be heard," Cara recalled of the unexpected guest.

For the newlyweds, who proudly declare themselves as "huge cat people," the incident felt like a sign. "Our names [Cara and Matt] together are Catt. We even had cat cake toppers. So this was kind of crazy," the bride shared.

Once the attention-seeking tabby got the acknowledgment she sought, she graciously quieted down for the remainder of the ceremony.

In the aftermath, staff and guests at the wedding venue embarked on a search for the feline, using shrimp as bait leftover from other events. After a couple of weeks, they successfully captured her, providing necessary medical attention and shots before clearing her for adoption.

The couple, taken by the little feline's charisma, decided to bring her home, where she became the younger sister to their cat named Gatsby. The charming intruder was aptly named Daisy.

“She has been the perfect addition,” Cara happily exclaimed.

Many people took to the comments to explain that the new family member clearly came from the "cat distribution system", which is where the feline will find the right person to look after it.

"I love that we all collectively agreed that there is in fact a cat distribution system and cats are actually magical creatures," one person commented.

Another person even delved into Norse gods, stating: "The Vikings would give their brides a cat to honor Freyja. Looks like Freyja personally made sure you had a cat! Congratulations."

A third person simply said: "She was saying HER vows."

Cara and Matt not only got married that day, but they also found a new member of their family!
