A man has divided the internet after proposing to his sleeping girlfriend and posting a picture of the ring on her finger to Facebook before she's had a chance to answer.
After putting much thought into the proposal, Michael Mayorga decided that the best way to surprise his girlfriend Jamilah was to put the ring on her finger as she slept.
"For weeks now I been planning on how to pop the question … you know all my moves and you are one very hard woman to surprise," he wrote on Facebook.
Michael then decided to surprise his girlfriend even more by posting a picture of her sleeping with the ring on her finger to social media without her consent.

"The jokes on you because now you're going to wake up with 3 surprises… a phone full of congratulations notifications and texts, an engagement ring on your finger and a picture of you sleeping that you don't want all over the internet," he wrote.
"SURPRISE!!! I’ll let y'all know the verdict when she wakes up."

It wasn't long before the post garnered thousands of likes and comments, with some praising it as a clever proposal idea and others slamming it for being a breach of consent.
One Facebook user wrote: "I have questions!! Wait, is she up yet? Did she say yes? Did he get his ass beat for posting this picture! I need answers please!"
A second Facebook user who was very much on the fence wrote: "Awesome congratulations. There's about to be a wedding/ a funeral lol xoxo [sic]"
Meanwhile, a third simply wrote: "Beautiful way to wake up. Congrats to you guys."
Thankfully, Michael's gamble paid off, and after risking a very public rejection, Jamilah not only accepted his proposal, but she was delighted with his unusual method.
As per News.com.au, she took to Facebook to say that her now husband-to-be "literally blew my mind" and she was "overwhelmed with so much love and joy",
"God you are AMAZING to send me this man who loves me for real," she wrote.
"Michael Mayorga I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!"
