Private investigator says men who cheat do exact same thing that gives away they're guilty
A private investigator has revealed the one giveaway that every man who cheats gives - can you guess what it is?
When a spouse thinks their other half is cheating but can't prove it, one of the options is to of course hire a private investigator to do the digging for you.
And it may surprise you that an actual private investigator has, over the years of doing many investigations, come to one conclusion.
That every man who cheats does the exact same thing to tell him that they're guilty of cheating.
But what is it?
What is the sign that a man is cheating?
Private investigator Ray Ranno says that he's noticed that cheating men always do the exact same thing to sign-post that they've cheated.
Speaking to the Locked In With Ian Bick podcast in 2025, Ranno notes that, throughout his investigations over the years, he's noticed one commonplace occurence.
"If a guy's going to pick up his sweetie on the side," he revealed, "he wants a clean car."
Ranno reveals that during many investigations when he would be tailing men whose partners thought were cheating on them, they all went to get their car cleaned before meeting up with their bit on the side.
"As soon as someone goes to the car wash, I think 'Ha ha, what's next?'" Ranno continued. "It's amazing how [every cheating man] does that."
Apparently, it is more male cheaters who always get their car cleaned. When Ranno is investigating women whom their partner suspects of cheating, they don't have the same tell.
"Women, it's not so much," he explained. "Women don't do it because they usually jump in the guy's car.
"Men always want to drive, it's very rare [they'd] get into a female's car."
Tricks a private investigator uses to catch cheaters
Private investigation has improved a lot over the years. Nowadays, investigators are less likely to wear trench coats and follow people down dark alleys like they used to in films, and more likely to use the latest hi-tech equipment to catch their marks in the act.
Ranno says that the equipment he uses of course includes long-lens cameras to capture photo and video evidence, but one of his most beloved gadgets is a little more sneaky.
His pride and joy is a fake coffee cup with a secret high-definition camera lens placed inside it, so he can easily record what's going on.
"I just take the lid off, turn [the camera] on, put the cap on it and it looks like I'm walking around with a coffee," he says. "[I'm actually] videotaping everything."
