Sex therapist who has slept with 400 of her own clients reveals most heartbreaking line one said to her
Kaly Miller, a sex surrogate and therapist, recently opened up about her role and experiences in an interview on the British TV show This Morning.
Having worked with over 400 men, Miller's profession goes beyond physical intimacy, focusing on the psychological and emotional needs of her clients.
While sex surrogates may engage in physical acts, their primary role is to support and guide individuals who struggle with intimacy or other related issues. This work, Miller says, is deeply fulfilling and something she feels she was destined to do.
Miller’s journey into this field was not planned. Originally a remedial sports massage therapist, she became increasingly aware of her own understanding of intimacy and sexuality, which led her to study psychosexuality.
It was through this exploration that she stumbled upon the profession of sex surrogacy. She recalls seeing an ad for "open-minded body workers" and, after some initial hesitation, decided to take the plunge. It was her first client, however, who truly helped her see the significance of this work.
The heartbreaking story that left a lasting impact
During her time working as a sex surrogate, one particular client left a profound emotional mark on Miller. The client, a man in his mid-60s, had lived a life full of loneliness and self-doubt, never quite experiencing intimacy or love.
When asked why he sought out Miller’s services, he shared a painful admission: “I don’t want to die without knowing what love feels like.”
The depth of his response struck Miller deeply. She recalled vividly how the moment affected her, saying, “My heart literally goes up, because I not only the moment, I know the voice, I know the person, I know the feeling of them, I know their journey, what it looked like.”
Miller further revealed that this client, who had never been able to connect with anyone romantically, was so starved for human touch that he would only use coins to pay at the corner store, as it was the only time he felt physical contact. This story, Miller says, made her realize that she was in the right profession, one that she was truly meant to do.
How the job shapes Miller’s life and family
While Miller has had partners during her career, she emphasizes that her work is integral to who she is. She describes it as something she cannot separate from her identity. In addition to her professional life, Miller is also a mother, and her children, along with her parents, are her biggest supporters. Despite the complexities of her work, Miller feels deeply validated by her family’s unconditional support.
Though her profession involves intimate and emotional experiences with clients, Miller maintains that she has a strong sense of balance in her life. Her connection with her family is her anchor, and it helps her navigate the unique challenges of her role as a sex surrogate.
