Since the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) decision to repeal net neutrality on Thursday, thousands of people have taken to social media platforms in order to express their concern over the reversal of the Obama era regulation. One of the loudest voices in the debate has been Mia Khalifa, who caused a bit of a stir at the end of last week by lashing out at Ajit Pai, the FCC's anti-net neutrality chairman. In a rather aggressive tweet, the ex-porn star took aim at Pai, and left no uncertainties about which side of the issue she stood on: "Kill yourself, @AjitPaiFCC. Before someone trying to run a dungeon on WoW and can’t access their server does it for you," she wrote. Pai, however, does not seem to be one for going along with what the masses would probably agree is the right decision, and instead supposedly did the complete opposite. The 44-year-old Republican attorney saw Khalifa's very direct "kill yourself" message, and somehow appeared to think that he could win her over by sliding into the DMs. Unsurprisingly, it didn't go well. In an Instagram post, Khalifa shared an apparent screenshot of her brief, albeit brilliant, interaction with the FCC chairman. Unfortunately, Khalifa took the post down just a matter of minutes after she had posted it, and has not offered any further comments about the conversation on Twitter. Pai, too, has neglected to say anything on the matter, and has instead spent the last few days continuing to tweet about net neutrality. Khalifa's outrage at the decision to end the regulations - and her subsequent snubbing of the chairman - is not entirely unjustified, as many people are appalled that the decision has been allowed to go through. Net neutrality regulations were in place in order to make sure that companies did not have control over internet speeds. It also stopped providers from being able to decide which sites its users should be able to visit or not. In other words, it prevented businesses from holding internet usage at ransom from its customers. Because of this, Khalifa - along with millions of others - saw this as an infringement on her freedom to say and do what she chooses to on the internet. Hence her initial outrage at Pai's executive decision to lead the campaign against net neutrality. Whether or not the post was genuine is up for discussion, but, given Pai's former (and unsuccessful) attempts to win favor from supporters of net neutrality, it doesn't seem too far-fetched. In the recent past, the FCC chairman has read out mean tweets about himself, become the butt of every twitter comedian's jokes, and made a super cringe-worthy commercial about all the things people will still be able to do once net neutrality has been repealed. Needless to say, Khalifa is definitely against the repeal, and Pai is clearly willing to stoop very low in order to win the approval of those who currently oppose his stance - so the Twitter exchange is more than plausible.

Mia Khalifa is letting her fans know that she won't tolerate disrespectful comments on any of her content.

Last month, the former adult star-turned-sports pundit and all-around social media personality joined the subscription site OnlyFans.

Explaining her decision to create an account and start sharing "SFW content, kinda", the 27-year-old said: "I want to take my power back and just post what I want and what makes me feel good, and I'm just so thankful that y'all are along for this wild ride."

However, despite delighting many of her followers, Mia - who is currently engaged to chef Robert Sandberg - has been on the receiving end of some rather unwarranted comments.

Earlier this year, Mia was extremely open and candid with the public regarding the long-lasting impact that her three-month stint in the adult entertainment industry had on her life.

In 2014, the then 21-year-old starred in 11 adult movies over a three-month period, something that she says still haunts her to this day.

Khalifa swiftly became one of the most well-known adult film actresses in the world, yet maintains that she only made $12,000 from her time in the industry.

Recently, she took to TikTok to discuss the continued impact of those three months on her life to this day.

As of this writing, over 1.84 million people have signed the Justice For Mia Khalifa petition on change.org.

The petition aims to have her videos removed and her domain names returned to her.

The headlines keep on coming from Mia Khalifa, who seems to thrive on causing a little controversy here and there. It was only earlier this week that the presenter, social media personality, and former adult actress caused conflict online for superimposing her face onto the Virgin Mary for an Instagram post. She posted that photo after a picture of her was mistaken by many as a photo of Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai. Mia Khalifa has been involved in a Twitter row with adult film star Abella Danger after she warned women against going into the adult entertainment industry.

In 2014, Khalifa starred in just 11 films that made her one of PornHub's biggest stars even to this day (despite the fact she says she is not profiting from the existing circulation of her content in any way).

Now, her critical comments haven't gone down well with adult actress Abella Danger, who hit back at a fan who said that Khalifa "deserves better".

The tweet that caught Danger's attention read: "Imagine being a household name in the porn industry because of how big your videos were in the matter of the THREE months you did porn… $12k... three months & a lifetime of regret. Mia Khalifa deserves better!"

She retweeted the tweet with the response: "LMFAO, that's her fault. We choose our rates babe."

Khalifa then slammed Danger's remark, explaining that she didn't want to put an end to the adult industry, she simply wanted to start a conversation which would leave to its performers being treated better.

However, Khalifa's calm response did nothing to placate Danger and she slammed the 27-year-old again, writing: "Your excuses suck as much as your BJ videos."

This is not the first time Mia has spoken out about her time in the industry.

During an interview with BBC HARDtalk's Stephen Sackur, Khalifa revealed that she had no choice but to do the controversial scene, even though she was opposed to it.

"I verbatim told them, 'You guys are going to get me killed'", Khalifa told Sackur, who proceeded to ask why she didn't just say no. "Intimidation," she replied. "I was scared. I knew that if i said no, it would... you know, they're not going to force you to do it, at that point that's rape. No one is going to force you to have sex. But I was still scared..."

"I mean, I have you ever felt scared to... not scared, but nervous to speak up and say something at a restaurant when your food's not right, and the waiter comes by and says, 'How is everything?' I was intimidated, I was nervous," she continued.

After the scene started making the rounds on the internet, Khalifa was threatened by numerous religious groups online, including ISIS. The militant group threatened to behead her, and also sent her mocked-up photographs of her own execution.

This, understandably, was one of the reasons why she decided to leave the adult industry, as she explains:

"They photoshopped a picture of me being beheaded and threatened that that would happen to me. It does worry me, but I try not to show it, because you can't show weakness.

"That's exactly what they're looking for. I really try and just make it look like it rolls off, but I'll admit, it gets to you after a while."

During the revealing interview, Sackur asked about whether or not Mia's family had any idea about her career choice, to which Khalifa replied: "No."
