Brian Laundrie conspiracy theorists believe a leg found floating in Tampa possibly belonged to the now-deceased 23-year-old fugitive.

WFLA reports that a human leg has been found in McKay Bay by a kayaker. A dive team has entered the scene to find more remains as police have confirmed this is an ongoing investigation.

Laundrie was the subject of a nationwide manhunt before his remains were found on October 20 in Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.

Dental records confirmed that they belonged to the fugitive, who was last seen six days before his missing fiancée, Gabby Petito, 22, was found dead in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.

In a statement, the FBI said: "On October 21, 2021, a comparison of dental records confirmed that the human remains found at the T Mabry Carlton Jr Memorial Reserve and Myakkahatchee Creed Environmental Park are those of Brian Laundrie."

Now, online sleuths are convinced the human limb is that of Laundrie's.

"We don't know if this is a partial leg or a fully-intact leg,” said WFLA Anchor, JB Biunno. "We just know it is a human leg."

There is no evidence that shows any connection between the leg found in the bay to Laundrie but some people have speculated that it may be him.

One Facebook user wrote: "Oh my, wonder if it's Brian's," while another added: "Brian, is that you?"

A third wrote: "Brain Landrie body parts don't be surprised," before another chimed in, writing: "Brian's body part? Possibly? Or someone else’s if it isn’t Brian, they need to buck down on this area, too much happening lately it seems like."

Biunno also said that the location of the leg was "nowhere near" Fort De Soto where a gun was fished out of the water last month in an area where Laundrie frequented with his family.

Fort De Soto Park was one of the areas that Dog the Bounty Hunter had been searching for the fugitive, whose skeletal remains were found on October 20 in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park near the Carlton Reserve.

The gun was submitted to the Florida Crime Information Center and the National Crime Information Center.

Dog the Bounty Hunter had joined the manhunt for Laundrie on September 27, 10 days after the 23-year-old was reported missing by his family.

The 68-year-old reality star's first port of call was the home of Laundrie's parents, Christopher and Roberta.
