Brian Austin Green has spoken out following claims his ex-wife Megan Fox has been "forcing" their sons to wear "girls' clothes".

Fox, 37, has recently come under fire from former music video director Robby Starbuck, who describes himself as a self-proclaimed Republican "freedom fighter" in his Twitter bio.

On June 8, Starbuck tweeted an image of Fox and her three children to his 360,000+ followers. He claimed to have previously lived in the same gated community as Fox, writing: "These are Megan Fox’s sons. We used to live in the same gated community and our kids played at the park.

"I saw 2 of them have a full on breakdown saying they were forced by their mom to wear girls clothes as their nanny tried to console them. It’s pure child abuse. Pray for them."

In a follow-up tweet, Starbuck added that the alleged incident he described occurred "five years ago", adding that "California wouldn’t do anything about it because the state celebrates this stuff and she’s famous".

He went on to describe Fox's sons as being unhappy and said he hadn't spoken out about the alleged situation "because they were so young and I thought it would stop".

Fox fiercely responded to Starbuck's tweets in an Instagram post, telling him: "[E]xploiting my child’s gender identity to gain attention in your political campaign has put you on the wrong side of the universe."

The Transformers star then said that she has been "burned at the stake by insecure, narcissistic, impotent, little men like [Starbuck] many times", but she is still here.

"[Y]ou f***ed with the wrong witch," she concluded her post.

Now, Fox's ex-husband Brian Austin Green has spoken out about the matter.

Green shares three sons with Fox - Noah, 10, Bodhi, nine, and Journey, six - and he recently spoke to TMZ about Starbuck's tweets, calling the claims "a totally bogus story".

The father added: "There are only a few people in their world that can actually verify wether [sic] or not a story like this is true and I can tell you with absolute certainty it is not.

"This person trying to claim this is true is a perfect example of someone with selfish motives that does not care about negatively affecting a parent child relationship."

Green concluded his statement to TMZ by saying: "As a society, I hope we continue to push to be better. This Robby Starbuck person is full of s**t, and I have no idea who he is."
