On March 30, Giuffre shared a photo of her bruised face from a hospital bed on Instagram, claiming she was in kidney failure following a crash involving a school bus in Neergabby, north of Perth.

"I’ve gone into kidney renal failure; they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology. I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what they say about wishes," she wrote.

The 41-year-old, who previously accused Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, told followers she was hit by a bus traveling at 110km/h, adding: “No matter what your car is made of, it might as well be a tin can.”

But the man behind the wheel, Ross Munns, painted a very different picture of the March 24 crash. “It’s just all blown out of proportion and I know what happened. I didn’t even see her in the car,” Munns told the Daily Mail.

A school bus driver of 16 years, Munns said he was overtaking a slow-moving Toyota Highlander - driven by a 71-year-old woman - at under 75km/h when the car suddenly turned in front of him. Though he honked his horn, he couldn’t avoid clipping the car’s taillight.

He said the woman told him she was uninjured, and they both pulled over to exchange details before driving away. “The driver basically pulled out in front of me. I made sure she was alright, and I went and did a police report. She was elderly and I asked if she was OK, and she said, ‘Yes I’m OK,’” he explained.

“I asked if she lived [at the property the car had turned into] and she said, ‘No, I’m a carer,' and I told her she needs to put her indicator on when you have to turn," he continued.

"That’s all the conversation was, and she asked how the kids [on the bus] were and I said, ‘fine’. It wasn’t a major crash," Munns added.

The bus driver said he voluntarily reported the incident because it felt “a little bit suss.” Later, the woman called to tell him that there was passenger in the car who suffered had “a black eye.”

Per News.com.au, Giuffre was taken to Joondalup Hospital after the crash for a pre-existing injury. Doctors reportedly discovered kidney issues during her stay, and she was discharged the next day.

She was later brought to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital by ambulance seeking treatment for pain and has since been discharged again. Another outlet reported that Giuffre’s facial bruising was the result of a fall.

Western Australia Police also contradicted her claims, confirming “no reported injuries” and calling the incident “minor.” A spokesperson told The Mirror, “The Western Australia Police Force received a report of a minor crash which occurred between a bus and a car… The car sustained approximately A$2,000 worth of damage.”

Adding to the confusion, Giuffre’s representative, Dini von Mueffling, later said the post was intended for a private Facebook page, not the public, Metro reported.

“Virginia has been in a serious accident and is receiving medical care in the hospital,” the spokesperson added. “She greatly appreciates the support and well wishes people are sending.”

Sources told CNN her condition is not life-threatening, and she has not disclosed how she sustained the visible bruises. Meanwhile, Professor Simon Davies of Kidney Research UK said that while kidney failure from trauma is possible, it would require “very severe injury.”

Further complicating her public claims, it emerged that Giuffre had been scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates’ Court just 10 days before the crash for allegedly breaching a family violence restraining order.

Two days before the incident, she posted: “My beautiful babies have no clue how much I love them, and they’re being poisoned with lies.”

Her father, Sky Roberts, issued a plea via The Guardian, saying, “Virginia, my daughter, I love you and praying you get the correct treatment to live a long and healthy life. If there is anything in the world I can do to help you, please let me know.”

Speaking to Daily Mail, he added: “I’m sick to my stomach. I feel like crying because I love my daughter more than life.”

Brad Edwards, Giuffre’s former lawyer, also shared support: “We’re hoping for better news in the coming days. I hope she pulls through with good medical care.”
