Millie Bobby Brown has officially entered a new chapter of her life: motherhood.
The Stranger Things star, 21, announced on Thursday that she and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, 23, have welcomed a baby girl, making their family of two into three.
The couple shared the update in a heartfelt message on social media, where Brown spoke about their excitement and desire to embrace this next stage together.
The actress, who has been candid in the past about her hopes for a large family, wrote that she and Bongiovi are “beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”
She ended her announcement with a sweet note: “And then there were three. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.”
What made the announcement even more special was Brown’s revelation that their daughter came to them through adoption. “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” she shared, confirming that she and Bongiovi had been quietly preparing for the role of parents. For the actress, who has often spoken about how important family is to her, the moment marks a dream realized.
In March, during an appearance on the SmartLess podcast, she explained why building a family had always been a priority for her. With both Brown and Bongiovi having grown up in big families (each one of four siblings) she said she envisioned raising a similarly bustling family of her own. “Of course I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family,” she said. “For me personally, it’s a huge thing. Jake was like, ‘We cannot do that until we get married.’ So that was his thing. And my thing was, ‘I really want a family.’”
That marriage happened quietly earlier this year. The pair tied the knot in May during a small, secret ceremony surrounded only by their closest friends and relatives, including Bongiovi’s famous father, Jon Bon Jovi. A source later described the event as a “very low-key, romantic affair,” with the emphasis on intimacy and love rather than spectacle.
Brown first announced her engagement in April 2023 with a black-and-white Instagram post, quoting Taylor Swift’s 'Lover': “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.” T
he engagement party that followed two months later featured heart-shaped balloons and a glowing sign that read: Mr & Mrs Bongiovi.
The couple first went public with their relationship in June 2021, and in a later interview with the Sunday Times Brown admitted she knew right away that Jake was the person she wanted by her side.
Now, with their daughter at home, Brown and Bongiovi are beginning the journey they once only talked about; raising a family of their own.
