Nicolas Cage has married girlfriend Riko Shibata in an "intimate" Las Vegas wedding last month.

The 57-year-old Face/Off star told People in a statement: "It’s true, and we are very happy."

According to Page Six, the ceremony took place on February 16 at Sin City's Wynn Hotel.

The couple wed February 16 in a small ceremony, a date chosen to honor the birthday of the groom’s late father, according to Cage’s statement.

And the couple's wedding date was a significant choice for Cage, as it was reportedly selected "to honor the birthday of the groom's late father", film executive and author August Coppola, who died in October of 2009.

People reports that 26-year-old Shibata wore a handmade Japanese Bridal Kimono from Kyoto, and walked down the aisle to her favorite song, 'Winter Song' by Kiroro.

The National Treasure star reportedly wore a Tom Ford tuxedo, and the "intimate" ceremony involved the couple exchanging traditional Catholic and Shinto vows.

The ceremony also included a traditional Haiku and poetry by Walt Whitman.

Following the wedding, the newlyweds celebrated with Cage's ex-wife, Alice Kim - with the pair remaining very good friends - and their shared son, 15-year-old Kal-El.

The marriage certificate posted on the Clark County Clerk's Office reportedly lists Shibata's name as 'Riko Cage'.

The couple started dating after meeting a little over a year ago in Shiga, Japan.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple were first photographed together in February 2020, during a visit to Cage's nine-foot pyramid-shaped tomb. The same tomb he plans on being buried in... Romantic.

Cage also has another son, 30-year-old actor Weston Coppola Cage, whom he shares with ex Christina Fulton.

This also marks Cage's fifth marriage, having been wed to Patricia Arquette (1995-2001), Lisa Marie Presley (2002-2004), Alice Kim (2004-2016), and Erika Koike (2019).

Our congratulations to Nicolas and Riko! We wish them all the best for their future together.
