Tom Holland has been hospitalised following an on-set accident while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth installment of Marvel’s blockbuster franchise.

The 29-year-old British actor reportedly suffered a concussion after a fall during a stunt sequence on Friday, per the Daily Mail.

The incident has led to filming being suspended while Holland undergoes treatment and recovers.

Tom Holland's Accident

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman told The Sun: “We were called at 10.30AM on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford.

"An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.”

Sources told Deadline that the concussion was “mild” and Holland is expected back at work in a few days “out of precaution.” However, other reports suggest filming could be on hold for several weeks.

Father Confirms Holland Will Be “Away From Filming For A While”

Holland’s father, Dominic, appeared at a charity dinner in Mayfair on Sunday where he confirmed his son would be “away from filming for a while.”

The actor himself was spotted at the same event alongside his fiancée and co-star Zendaya, 28, but reportedly left early after feeling unwell.

The accident could have significant knock-on effects for production. Spider-Man: Brand New Dayb - a £150 million project - was already pushed back to a July 31, 2026 release.

Studio executives from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are expected to meet to discuss how to move forward.

Production only began in August, and Holland had already been seen filming earlier this summer in Glasgow, where the city was transformed into New York City for the movie.

He was also spotted last month shooting emotional cemetery scenes at Aunt May’s grave in Surrey, with Zendaya present on set for support.

A “Fresh Start” For Spider-Man

The film was officially unveiled at CinemaCon in March by director Destin Daniel Cretton, who described it as a bold new chapter for Peter Parker, per the Independent.

“I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say,” Holland told fans in a video message.

Cretton added: “I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world.

"We’re all just daily nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”

Unlike the previous three Holland-led films - Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021) - the new title abandons the “home” motif.

Instead, it references a 2008 Marvel Comics storyline in which Doctor Strange’s spell erased everyone’s memory of Peter Parker and ended his marriage to Mary Jane.
