A driver in Thailand has some serious making-up to do after he left his wife stranded at the side of the road, forcing her to walk 20 kilometers (12.5 miles).

Arguments in relationships are pretty common, most stemming out of something petty that can be fixed with a simple apology... Though abandoning a loved one on the side of the road might take a whole new level of groveling.

Boontom Chaimoon, 55, might have a bit more apologizing to do to his wife, Amnuay Chaimoon, 49, after leaving her stranded on Christmas Day.

The couple was driving through the night to Maha Sarakham in Thailand on Christmas Day, per Thai news site Matichon, when Boontom pulled over to the side of the road at around 3:00 AM to relieve himself.

Local outlet Daily News reports that Amnuay questioned why her husband didn't stop at a gas station they had not long passed, but soon decided she also needed to pee.

She headed into the bushes for a bit of privacy while she took care of business and when she headed back to the roadside, she was shocked to find her husband, along with their car, nowhere to be seen.

Naturally a bit worried about being stranded at the roadside at 3:00 AM, Amnuay began walking toward the district of Kabin Buri which was 12.5 miles (20km) from where she was left.

She arrived at the destination two hours later at 5:00 AM, where she then had the ordeal of getting in contact with her husband who was apparently none the wiser that she was no longer in the car with him.

Amnuay had left her phone in a bag in the car and didn't know Boontom's number, so the authorities attempted to contact her other relatives.

Meanwhile, 99 miles (159km) away, Boontom had reached the Korat province before he was alerted to the fact he had done the majority of the journey alone as he was eventually contacted at 08:00 AM, per Thailand Posts English.

Presumably feeling awful, upon realizing what had happened he drove to meet his wife, where he revealed that he thought she was asleep in the back seat of the car which is why he failed to notice her absence.

After apologizing profusely, all seemed forgiven as Amnuay said the pair didn't argue about the incident and revealed they have been married for 27 years and have a 26-year-old son together.

It would seem like this situation ended well in the end, and Amnuay is one of the most forgiving people in the world!
