Melania Trump is reportedly telling friends that she doesn’t want to return to the White House.
What's more, the former First Lady has reportedly said that if her husband, ex-POTUS Donald Trump, plans to run again, he'll be doing it without her help, per CNN.
"Not unlike 2016, Melania Trump has no intention, really, of joining the campaign or being a prolific presence," CNN’s Kate Bennett said on Sunday, September 5, during an episode of Inside Politics.
"I spoke to people who’ve said she’s not even interested in being in the White House again, going through being first lady again."
Bennett said Melania is a private person who has "retreated" to Mar-a-Lago, Florida, and "really has no interest in helping her husband" with any possible 2024 presidential run.
She added that Melania refused to participate in 2016 events so frequently that the campaign eventually stopped asking her.
In one conversation secretly recorded by former friend and aide Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Melania even complained about decorating the White House for the holidays.
"I'm working my a** off at Christmas stuff," she said. "You know, who gives a f**k about Christmas stuff and decorations, but I need to do it, right?"
It comes as the ex-POTUS hinted that he had ambitions to re-enter politics in an attempt to win a second term in a recent interview with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity.
When asked about the possibility of running for office again, Trump claimed that it would be important to first endorse the right supporters in Congress, stating:
"I've got tremendous numbers ... there is more popularity [for me] now than there was the day before the election. Because they see how bad things are at the border.
"They see what is going on, they see that their guns are gonna be gone ... their taxes are going up. Regulations are going through the roof. Job [losses] are going to go up.
"So I say this: I am looking at it very seriously. Beyond seriously. From a legal standpoint, I don’t want to really talk about it yet. It's a little too soon."
And in a speech made a speech at the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida, Trump again alluded to his future ambitions.
Per Global Times, he told a crowd of his supporters: "With your help, we will take back the House, we will win the Senate, and then a Republican president will make a triumphant return to the White House – and I wonder who that will be?"
