An ex-model has won her case in court against a cop who used a police helicopter to spy on her while she was sunbathing naked alongside her teenage daughters.
Per a report by The Mirror, 53-year-old former glamour model Tracey Dixon was awarded £200,000 ($270,000) in a settlement against South Yorkshire Police for the invasion of privacy.
Dixon sought damages against the force after discovering that voyeuristic former officer Adrian Pogmore had been using an official chopper (boasting a powerful camera capable of reading a number plate from two miles away) to repeatedly spy her from the air.
Dixon speaks out about the case:According to The Sun, Pogmore was caught when his girlfriend, Maria Tamasi, found a DVD of helicopter footage of a couple having sex at their home in Rotherham.
He later admitted to four charges of misconduct in public office, having spied on Dixon and used the same police vehicle to film a couple having sex on their patio and another naked couple holidaying in their trailer.
Per the New York Post, Dixon commented on the violating experience by stating:
"While he was flying around for his own sexual kicks criminals were on the run... I have no faith or trust in the police anymore.
"It was a complete and utter violation of my privacy. I feel sick to know that it took place."
Dixon recently appeared on the British daytime talk show This Morning to discuss winning her case, telling hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamon Holmes that she would often soak up the sun nude while in the presence of her own children, aged 8, 15, and 18-years old respectively.
However, when the interview in question aired a number of Twitter users seemed to think that Dixon's naked sunbathing was inappropriate, and swiftly took to Twitter to express their outrage and disapproval:
For instance, one Twitter user wrote: "Anybody else think it's weird that this woman was sunbathing NAKED with the 18, 15 & 8yr old children next to her?? [sic]"
Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: "sunbathing naked beside your 15 and 18 year old? Not excusing the officer but why would you be doing this anyway? [sic]"
