The family of the woman who believes she could be Madeleine McCann has now released an explosive statement about her claims.

As previously reported, a 21-year-old woman named Julia - who goes by the Instagram handle @iammadeleinemcann - went viral on social media after a video circulated of her on TikTok alleging that she is the missing British girl.

Julia revealed that a comment from her grandmother prompted her to believe that she may be the missing girl from years ago and even posted alleged evidence to her account such as showing how the freckles on her legs are similar to Madeleine's.

To further prove she could be Madeleine, she even said that she also has the same eye condition as the missing girl - who famously had a distinct mark on her right eye known as coloboma - which is caused by a gap in part of the eye's structure.

Check out her claims below:

On the evening of May 3, 2007, three-year-old Maddie, from Leicestershire in the United Kingdom, went missing from her bed in a vacation rental in the Portuguese resort town Praia da Luz.

The missing person's case shook the world, with tons of speculation surrounding the incident but despite years of investigation, she has never been found.

Julia has attracted a tremendous amount of attention on social media, with her account now boasting 1.1 million followers in almost two weeks.

She has also gotten the attention of Maddie's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, who have allegedly agreed to do a DNA test and "are willing to look at all leads," per the Daily Star.

While the woman has insisted that she has reason to believe she may be the missing girl - who would be 19 years old today - Francisco Marco, the private detective who led the investigation for Madeleine after her disappearance, has shared his opinions on the woman's unsubstantiated claims.

Speaking to the Spanish newspaper El Independiente, he said: "Without knowing the details in depth, it doesn’t add up to me. I don’t think it’s her."

In fact, the detective isn’t the only one with doubts as other skeptical internet sleuths have alleged that Julia has more than one surname and said that her age is two years older than Maddie's, per News.com.au.

According to Daily Mail, the Polish missing person organization, Missing Years Ago, has released a statement on Facebook that is allegedly on behalf of Julia's family.

In the post, they claimed to have "memories" and "pictures" making it "obvious that Julia is our daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and step-niece.

"Julia also has these photos, because she took them from the family home with the birth certificate, as well as numerous hospital discharges," they said, per the outlet. "We always tried to understand all situations that happened with Julia.

"Numerous therapies, medicines, psychologists, and psychiatrists - Julia had it all guaranteed. She wasn't left alone. Threats to our address from Julia, her lies and manipulations, activity on the internet. We've seen it all and we've tried to prevent it, to explain, we've asked her to stop," they continued.

"We always tried to help her get back on her feet. Julia has been of age for several years. She has moved out of the house. She refuses treatment, doesn't take medicines regularly," the family reportedly penned. "Julia once wanted to be a singer, a model. She always wanted to be popular."

"What's happening now she got one million followers. We're afraid Julia will carry the inevitable. The internet won't forget, and it's obvious that Julia isn't Maddie," they have claimed. "We are devastated at this current situation."
