Russell Brand has been charged with additional counts of rape and sexual assault, police have confirmed.
The new allegations involve two further women and add to charges brought against the comedian and actor earlier this year.
In April, Brand was charged in connection with four women, facing two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault.
Brand has denied the original charges and has pleaded not guilty, previously insisting he was "never a rapist", per The Telegraph.
The Metropolitan Police said the latest charges – which mark his third rape accusation – follow further evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation.
Brand is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 20 January 2026 to answer the two new allegations.
Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi, who is leading the inquiry, said the investigation remains active and appealed for anyone with relevant information to come forward.
“The women who have made reports, including those connected to the new charges, continue to receive support from specially trained officers,” he said, via Sky News.
“The Met’s investigation remains ongoing, and detectives urge anyone affected by this case, or anyone who has information, to contact police.”
DCI Farooqi also highlighted the availability of specialist support services for survivors, noting that independent charity Rape Crisis offers assistance through its 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line.
Police have stressed that inquiries are continuing and that they are keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have information connected to the case.
