Bodycam footage shows moment Florida woman who slept with family dog on video is confronted by cops
Body camera footage has captured the moment police confronted a Florida woman after investigators alleged that she had partaken in sexual activity with the family dog.
Samantha Lee White, was found guilty of sexual offenses against an animal along with her husband, John White, in the same case, with the couple sentenced to 3 years and 6 years in prison, respectively.
Initial investigation into alleged sex with family dog
Authorities launched an initial investigation after receiving reports that John had allegedly videoed Samantha having sex with one of their family dogs, as well as several other offenses, including ones involving child sex abuse.
After the Lee County Sheriff’s Office executed a residential search warrant, they learned of the horrific incidents of sexual intercourse between Samantha and one of the family's four dogs, their male Labrador, which was confirmed to have been recorded by John.
“I am disgusted by the actions of these two North Fort Myers residents. I will not tolerate any kind of abuse in Lee County,” said Sheriff Carmine Marceno. “I stand by my guarantee to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and put criminals behind bars.”
Body camera footage released of arrest
Body camera footage from the police visit shows officers explaining the search warrant to White, who appeared confused about why they had arrived at her home.
At one point, she told the officers: "I don't understand. I can't have you read this now. I haven't taken this morning. I just woke up and I have no idea what's going on."
An officer explained that detectives were investigating allegations involving child sexual abuse material and that they would be searching for electronic devices and other potential evidence.
The officer also reassured her that they would discuss the situation with her once the search had been completed, but when asked whether she had any questions, White responded by enquiring into whether she could take the dog into a small garden area so the animal could play.
The woman would eventually go on to admit the offenses, pleading guilty at court following the investigation.
Unsurprisingly, Samantha and John have since been banned from owning animals, and have both been consequently put on the Animal Abuser Registry, with the pair's four dogs forcibly removed from their ownership.
