Elf star Faizon Love has been arrested in Florida.
The 58-year-old actor, best known for also starring in the comedy films The Meteor Man, Friday, and Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, was booked into Orient Road Jail in Tampa on Tuesday (June 16), on two charges of contempt of court.
According to a TMZ report, Love's arrest is related to a paternity case in which he's involved.
Earlier this year, Love asked the court for relief, claiming he could not afford to pay the roughly $250,000 he allegedly owed in support payments, per Hot97.
In court filings, he said his income had plunged and that he was facing serious financial difficulties.
According to the documents, the B.A.P.S. actor said his highest annual income over the previous five years was around $13,000. He also claimed he had earned no income during the past year.
In addition to this, Love stated that a medical emergency prevented him from attending a scheduled court hearing in April.
This isn't the first time the comedian was arrested, as back in 2017, he was apprehended for allegedly attacking a valet at the John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Columbus, Ohio.
Surveillance footage showed Love grabbing the employee behind the neck in the baggage claim area and throwing him onto the ground and into a desk.
The actor pleaded no contest to the incident and received a suspended sentence of 180 days and a $500 fine, per WBNS.
The actor has also been accused of assaulting San Diego hotel employee Elizabeth Renderos in 2024.
The plaintiff claimed that Love became "agitated and aggressive" after she said the Sheraton Hotel had no vacancy, and that he "forcefully ripped the credit card reader off the counter and hurled it at her, "striking her on the right side of her head".
At the time the lawsuit was filed, records from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office showed there was an active arrest warrant for Love on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon that had been issued in October 2024. However, the warrant has since been cleared and is no longer active.
Love's screen acting career started with Bebe's Kids in 1992. He went on to star on both The Meteor Man (1993) and The Parent 'Hood (1995–1999), and also portrayed Big Worm in the original Friday (1995).
The actor featured in the 2003 Christmas classic as the manager of Gimbels department store, where Buddy the Elf, played by Will Ferrell, lands a job.
He also collaborated with Elf director Jon Favreau on the films Made (2001) and Couples Retreat (2009).
Most recently, Love appeared in the 2023 thriller The Last Stop in Yuma County. According to his IMDb, he also has several upcoming projects currently in development.
The singer Chris Brown has been arrested just moments after coming off stage at a concert in Florida, authorities have said.
The 29-year-old was detained after finishing the gig at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach and taken to County Jail. According to police, his arrest was in connection to an outstanding warrant in a nearby county, however, it's unclear what this warrant was for.
TMZ reported that shortly after finishing the show, Brown "hopped off stage and into a police cruiser" that had been waiting for him to finish the performance.
According to a spokesman for the police, Brown posted a $2,000 bond and was released shortly after being detained by officers.
After being released from jail, the star appeared on his official Instagram account to share a photo of himself on the stage with the caption:"What's NEW????? Show tomorrow!!!"
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk4LKvklCcA/?utm_source=ig_embed]]
Thing singer is currently performing on his Heart Break On A Full Moon Tour and it's believed that the rest of his shows will go ahead as scheduled.
Of course, this isn't Brown's first run-in with the law. Back in 2009, he was convicted for assaulting his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, after a pre-Grammys party in February of that year. Brown was sentenced to five years of probation, a year of domestic violence counselling and six months of community service.
He was also handed a five-year restraining order that required him to remain 50 yards away from Rihanna at all times, with it being reducing to 10 at public events.
In a documentary released last year, Brown alleged that Rihanna had been kicking and punching him during an argument about another woman. He then says that he "really hit her" and bit her arm.
Appearing to show remorse for his actions, the singer said that he felt like a "monster" and said that the incident would "haunt me forever."
"I remember she was trying to kick me. It was just her just being upset. But then I really hit her. With a closed fist, like I punched her and it busted her lip. And when I saw it I was in shock. Why the hell did I hit her?
"From there, she just spit in my face, spit blood in my face, so it enraged me even more. It was a real fight in a car."
Brown said he realised it was a "petty, stupid fight" and pulled over, leaving Rihanna to drive home on her own.
Speaking about the police picture of Rihanna that showed her injuries, he said: "I look back at that picture and I'm like, 'That's not me, bro'. I hate it to this day. "That's going to haunt me forever."
In the documentary, which was titled "Chris Brown: Welcome to my Life," he revealed the relationship started to go downhill after he admitted to cheating on Rihanna with a former employee, despite previously denying it.
After that revelation, Brown said Rihanna "hated" him for what he had done to her and claimed that their relationship quickly turned volatile. "She didn't care, she just didn't trust me after that," he said.
"From there, it just went downhill because it would be fights, it would be verbal fights, physical fights as well...
"We were fighting each other. She would hit me, I would hit her. But it never was OK."
While the reason behind the warrant remains unknown, it doesn't seem like something Brown needs to massively worry about. Besides, he's a celebrity, so he'll probably end up paying his way out of any trouble.

A man from Florida has been arrested for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a stuffed doll of the character Olaf from Frozen.
On October 22, shoppers at the Target store in St Petersberg allegedly saw 20-year-old Cory Meader take the snowman toy from a display of Disney merchandise, before proceeding to hump the plush toy in public.
Meader reportedly rubbed himself against the toy until he ejaculated, and then attempted to do the same thing to a unicorn toy immediately after climaxing.
Disturbed by Meader's bizarre behavior, the police were summoned to the scene and Meader was arrested on charges of criminal mischief.
Both of the toys Meader used in his quest to achieve sexual gratification have since been destroyed due to contamination from Meader's ejaculate. All told, the damage inflicted purportedly totaled around $200.
In a police report recovered by The Smoking Gun, a member of the Pinellas County Sherrif's Office wrote: "The defendant was read Miranda rights and admitted to doing 'stupid stuff' and admitted that he had 'nutted' on the Olaf stuffed animal. Defendant has a history of this type of behavior via his father (not on the scene). The merchandise could not be re-sold and [was] destroyed due to circumstances [sic]."
Take a look at the trailer for the upcoming Frozen 2 (featuring Olaf of course):

According to Disney.com, the character of Olaf is: "The friendliest snowman in Arendelle. He is innocent, outgoing and loves all things summer. Olaf may be a bit naive, but his sincerity and good-natured temperament make him a true friend to Anna and Elsa."
It remains to be seen when Meader's sentencing will be, but he could face a misdemeanour fine of up to $1,000 if found guilty in court.

A Florida man has been sentenced to 10 days in jail for attacking a man who was dressed like a Minion from the Despicable Me film franchise.
Ryan Nihart from Citrus County pleaded 'no contest' on Monday to misdemeanour battery and criminal mischief for the 2018 attack on 41-year-old Jamie Roehm.
Police said the 26-year-old spun Roehm, who was dressed as one of the fictional yellow creatures to promote a local business, around, before knocking him over and kicking him on Daytona Beach's boardwalk on July 8.

The attack on Roehm, who is said to be "partially blind", was captured on surveillance video and on a phone camera and allegedly intended to be a comedic viral prank.
According to the Miami Herald, days after the incident, Nihart wrote on his Facebook page: "So I do want to apologize to anybody I offended or offend with my situation!!! I was trying to give you guys a funny video with no ill intentions. I mean no harm and still love everyone and just want to make you all happy."
Nihart faced a maximum sentence of one year in jail, but was sentenced to 10 days in the Volusia County Branch Jail followed by 12 months of supervised probation.
In addition, the "self-proclaimed social media star" was instructed to pay for damages to Roehm's costume and enrol in a "moral recognition therapy course".
Nihart is not the only Florida Man to make the news this week; another is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing 'opioid' pills that turned out to be laxatives.
Peter Emery was reportedly caught on camera taking pills from his flatmate's lockbox, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office affidavit.
He told police after that he took two pills thinking they were hydrocodone acetaminophen — a narcotic that contains an opioid — but threw them away when he found out they were "something else".
According to the product's listing on Walmart's website, the capsules were "Equate Gentle Laxatives", an over-the-counter medication that can be used to relieve constipation.
Jayme Ream, who lived with Emery, told WFLA that he bought a camera and switched the laxatives and opioids after suspecting his housemate of stealing his pain medication in the past.
His suspicions were proven true when Emery walked in, took two pills from the mislabelled box and left.
"I couldn’t believe how quick he got in. He just basically, from the video, he just walked in," Ream told WFLA. "Had the code and he was in."
Emery, who was reportedly found guilty of theft in 2014 and 2015, now faces a charge of felony petit theft.
In addition, another Florida man has been sentenced to a year in jail after jumping into a zoo's crocodile enclosure.
Court records show 23-year-old Brandon Keith Hatfield pleaded no contest to multiple charges, including trespassing and criminal mischief on Friday after breaking into the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park on November 5, 2018.
According to an arrest report, Hatfield was bitten on the leg when he jumped into the water in the zoo's Nile crocodile exhibit.
He escaped, but left blood and clothing behind in the enclosure and caused over $5,000 in damage at the 125-year-old attraction. He was arrested the next day after a resident reportedly spotted him crawling in his underwear across a neighbouring yard.
Sometimes, the expression "only in Florida" is all too apt, but this next video proves that some things really do only ever happen in the sunshine state.
Bizarre footage has emerged online, showing a shirtless teen causing chaos at a local mall by jumping into a gated pond and proceeding to wrestle a large plastic alligator using WWE-style moves. I know, I can't believe that last sentence either, but bear with me here.
The boy in question, 18-year-old Gianny Sosa-Hernandez, was arrested by local police on charges of criminal mischief after he performed the bizarre stunt on the fake alligator on display at a Miami-Dade County mall on March 30. Upon arrest, the teenager allegedly confessed to the crime and apologised for his actions.
Watch the bizarre moment the teen wrestles the plastic alligator below:

The Miami-Dade Police Department's official arrest report reads: "The Miami-Dade Police Department, Kendall District, has arrested Gianny Sosa-Hernandez for vandalising a local mall. Sosa-Hernandez, 18, was video recorded jumping over a wooden pedestrian barrier, grabbing a display alligator and throwing it into a shallow pond."
It continues: "He pretended to wrestle the alligator and later posted the video on social media platforms. Sosa-Hernandez damaged the display alligator, valued at $3,690. The mall manager confirmed the video was recorded inside the mall. Sosa-Hernandez has been arrested and charged accordingly."
Strangely enough, this isn't the first time that Sosa-Hernandez's inappropriate wrestling has led to arrest. Earlier this week, he was incarcerated for assaulting his school principal, Humberto Miret, in the school’s second-floor hallway. Sosa-Hernandez filmed the attack and uploaded it to social media and in the video, he can be heard mocking his educator.
Check out the same teenager wrestling his own principal:

In the alarming footage of the happy-slapping incident, Sosa-Hernandez states to Miret: "Oh, now that I’m recording, you don’t want to touch me? You don’t want to hit me now? ... It’s crazy, ain’t it? Now that the camera has your face, you don’t want to hit me. Now that the superintendent might see this, you don’t want to touch me."
Sosa-Hernandez faces charges of battery on a school official and interference with an educational institution.
A man from Florida has been arrested on robbery charges after he visited a bank and asked to take out one cent.
Michael Fleming, 41, has been accused of one count of robbery with no firearm or weapon, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened at a Chase Bank along US route 441 in Lady Lake, around 60 miles northwest of Orlando at just before 2PM on June 29, according to an arrest affidavit.
FOX5 Orlando reported that Fleming went up to the counter and passed a withdrawal slip to the bank teller for the total of one cent.
When the teller told Fleming he couldn't withdraw a penny, Fleming allegedly responded: "So you want me to say the other word?", according to police.
Fearing the situation could turn violent, the bank worker called police, who received a report about "an in-progress bank robbery" and arrived to find the defendant sitting down and waiting for them.
Law&Crime reports that Sheriff's deputies arrested the man without incident, before transporting him to the Sheriff's office for a recorded interview, where he initialed and circled several areas on a “pre-printed Miranda Warnings” form regarding the waiver of his constitutional rights.
Fleming then shared his version of events, which provided more information, with the affidavit reading: "The defendant advised he drove to the Citizens First Bank, but it was closed, so he then drove a few parking lots over to the Chase Bank.
"The defendant described walking into the bank, filled out a withdrawal slip for $00.01, provided it to the bank teller who advised we can’t give you one cent, at which time the defendant advised ‘So you want me to say the other word?’, at which time the bank teller had some kind of realization of what was taking place, and stepped away from the counter."
Fleming then allegedly told investigators: "Most of the time, the way tellers are trained if someone comes in to rob you, you give them the money and let them go."
The affidavit continued: "The defendant advised he was expecting the bank teller to give him the $00.01, at which time he would then sit in the chair and wait for law enforcement.
"The defendant advised after not receiving anything from the teller, he just waited in the lobby for law enforcement to arrive. The defendant advised his goal was to be arrested."
It went on to note that no money was obtained during the robbery attempt and that Fleming has no account with Chase, nor any prior convictions for robbery.
Fleming was originally detained on no bond, but according to the Sumter County court records, further updates to the case have come to light since his arrest, including him qualifying as indigent and being awarded a court-appointed attorney.
According to jail records, his bond has now been set at $5,000.
