The long-hidden contents of the Jeffrey Epstein files were finally made public, pulling back the curtain on a disturbing collection of images, documents, and names tied to the convicted sex offender’s secretive world.
Released by the U.S. Department of Justice just hours before a legal deadline under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the massive trove includes thousands of redacted records, newly surfaced photos, and evidence gathered from multiple investigations dating back to 2005.
The files contain no explicit claims of wrongdoing against the celebrities pictured. However, the names and faces alone have reignited public scrutiny, confirming that Epstein’s reach extended deep into Hollywood, Washington, and even the royal family.
Celebrities Shown In The Files
Among the most striking images released is one showing former President Bill Clinton swimming with Ghislaine Maxwell and an unidentified woman, whose face is hidden.
A second image shows Clinton in a hot tub with a different unidentified woman, and a now-infamous photo features a painting of the former leader wearing a blue dress and red heels, similar to the one worn by Monica Lewinsky.
In a 2024 memoir titled Citizen: My Life After The White House, Clinton reflected on his past ties to Epstein, writing: “The bottom line is, even though it allowed me to visit the work of my foundation, travelling on Epstein's plane was not worth the years of questioning afterward. I wish I had never met him," per The Guardian.
Clinton's former deputy chief of staff, Angel Urena, also responded to the release, saying: “This isn't about Bill Clinton. Never has, never will be. There are two types of people here."
"The first group knew nothing and cut Epstein off before his crimes came to light. The second group continued relationships with him after. We're in the first.”
Despite the photos, the DOJ emphasized that appearing in the files does not indicate wrongdoing.
Other famous names named or pictured include Michael Jackson, Sir Mick Jagger, Diana Ross, comedian Chris Tucker, and Kevin Spacey.
The documents also contain references to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, better known as Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
One disturbing photo shows the former royal sprawled across five redacted women inside The Saloon at Sandringham, with Maxwell smiling behind him.
The location was confirmed by comparing the fireplace to other known images from the royal residence.
Andrew has long denied allegations that he sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre, who was 17 at the time. He settled her civil suit in 2022 for millions of dollars while maintaining he had never met her.
Disturbing Details of Epstein's Abuse, Preferences, and Threats
The newly unsealed files span four datasets, with many stemming from three separate investigations: the 2005 Palm Beach probe, a 2008 federal case that led to Epstein’s now-infamous plea deal, and the 2019 Manhattan investigation that ended when Epstein died in jail.
One document from 1996 accuses Epstein of threatening to “burn [the complainant’s] house down” after stealing nude photographs of her 12-and 14-year-old sisters, which she claimed he later tried to sell.
Another document describes how Epstein asked for IDs to “make sure” girls were underage, with one victim stating that he “didn’t want Spanish or dark girl[s]” and was “not happy” when one was brought to him.
A 2006 police report lists 17 females Epstein was accused of abusing - a mix of juveniles and adults - with identifying details redacted.
A separate complaint details how the financier allegedly requested to photograph young girls at swimming pools.
In another image, Epstein is seen lying on a sun lounger holding a copy of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Part of the image is redacted. A complaint form lists the character of the case as “child pornography," per Sky News.
The files also included a list of 254 alleged masseuses - entirely blacked out - and 119 pages of a grand jury document that were redacted in full.
In a revealing Amazon receipt from 2005, Epstein is shown to have spent $68.83 on three books about S&M and erotic slaves.
Another photo shows him blowing out birthday candles next to Lord Mandelson, who has previously been fired over his ties to Epstein.
Trump’s Name Surfaces
President Donald Trump’s name appears just once in the initial release: on the back of a 1997 photo showing Epstein handing a woman a giant novelty check bearing a “D. Trump” signature.
The image matches a previously reported photo from a birthday scrapbook Maxwell made for Epstein.
Sky News’ U.S. correspondent James Matthews said the mention was “strikingly” limited, noting, “We know he is in the files - we've been told that by his chief of staff... I assume we have to wait until tranche number two [of the release] at least before we learn about Trump's involvement.”
The Oversight Committee Democrats claimed on X that the check image was on a page that included a joke about “selling a fully depreciated woman to Donald Trump for $22,500."
Trump has denied any knowledge or involvement in Epstein’s criminal acts.
