Gypsy Rose Blanchard's final text to ex Ken Urker revealed before his tragic death
The final text from Gypsy Rose Blanchard to her late ex-partner, Ken Urker, has been revealed by authorities.
Authorities discovered Urker dead at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on Thursday (October 1), his 34th birthday.
Lafourche Sheriff's Office confirmed that they had responded to a residence in Raceland at 6:15PM on Thursday, where Urker was found dead.
They stated that the investigation into his death is ongoing, with the cause of death yet to be revealed.
Blanchard had become worried after he didn't reply to a birthday message that she sent him.
She later theorized that his cause of death may have been an overdose, explaining that he was not in a good state of mind.
It's now been revealed that Blanchard's final text conversations with Urker were about their one-year-old daughter, Aurora.
Blanchard's final message to Urker
A source told Page Six that messages between the pair in the weeks before Urker's death were 'normal' and mostly about their daughter.
The couple officially broke up last month, and mostly spoke about co-parenting.
They went on: “She was talking more like a friend kind of level. Just co-parent level,
“So it was like, ‘Hey, how’s your day going? Cool.'
“It was not like, ‘Hey, what have you been up to?’ ‘What have you watched on TV last night?’ ‘Oh, we’re having this for dinner.’ It was not that kind of stuff. You know, it was just like, he’s not interested right now, so I’m just going to talk about the baby,” they claimed.
Apparently, Blanchard avoided any flirtatious messages as she knew Urker was having issues with his mental health.
It's said that she wanted to get back together, but space was needed for Urker to heal.
The source added that once Blanchard accepted their relationship was over, she stopped the 'whole kind of relationship vibe'.
The publication had reported that the former couple was living separately when they 'amicably' called time on their relationship, around a month before Urker's death.
Blanchard allegedly hoped that Urker would improve with time and some therapy, and that their relationship could resume.
But this wouldn't materialize, and they would only speak about their child.
“They were in touch every few days checking in on Aurora, ’cause she had her all the time, and they’d FaceTime,” the source explained.
The couple met in 2017 during her prison sentence for the murder of Blanchard's mom, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
They got engaged in 2018 before breaking up a year later, with Blanchard marrying Ryan Scott Anderson in 2022, before ending the marriage and getting back with Urker in 2024, following her release from prison.
Items found in Urker's residence
It has been revealed by Page Six that Urker was found with drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun at the time of his death.
A report obtained on Friday detailed that after 'deputies entered [Urker’s] residence through the front door,' they were 'able to see Mr. Urker from the living room area lying on his back in the bed.'
The report went on: “Deputies walked in the direction of the room and located paraphernalia (syringes and spoon) in the bathroom next to a brown powdery substance,
“Deputies located a syringe and a handgun on the nightstand next to the bed.”
They said that Urker 'was found lying on the bed on his back, cold to the touch, and appeared to have been there for an extended period of time.'
The police report said his face and arms were blue, while he had 'a paper towel placed on his left arm with what appeared to be blotches of blood on the paper towel'.
“The handgun on the night stand was holstered laying [sic] next to two shot glasses and a syringe,” authorities detailed.
Gypsy Rose’s family member Anita Blanchard was responsible for contacting authorities for a welfare check after Urker failed to show up to work.
The report said of Anita's call: “They stated Mr. Urker made comments of being depressed and upset,
“They advised he made a TikTok live video at approximately 2300 hours. They advised that he just had the video going while he was driving without him saying anything.”
